Thats something I'm interested to know to, I wonder if WD might be working on a 3rd generation raptor or something, as I'll be building an all new rig soon and getting an Nforce 4, and was going to get a 74GB raptor, but I dunno if I should hold off.
Where did you get this from?
Yep, and I can?t wait especially after the disappointment that is Guild Wars. All these people who were making a fuss about that game being a WoW killer, LOL they aren?t even in the same league. There is a reason that game has no monthly fee, it?s because no one in their right mind would pay to...
I?m guessing we will see OLED start to become available in stores in about 2-3 years. Then they will no doubt go through the same phase LCDs are coming out of at the moment. Which was the exorbitantly high price and many technical issues phase. LCDs have made leaps and bounds recently though and...
SLI is looking promising, but I think we need to wait and see more reviews on this until we can make final conclusions, there are still unanswered questions like PSU requirements, how well overclocking works and whether or not nvidia can tune its drivers to fix some of these graphical glitches...
I think what Virge said is about right. The nforce 4 is as future proof as a motherboard can be atm. There are no significant upgrades coming in 2005, short of BTX but no really gives 2 shits about it. AMD won't be supporting it any time soon and with Intel on the backfoot at the moment...
LCD is defiantly a lot better for your eyes than CRT. I used to get terrible cases of red eye when using a CRT if I used the PC for extended periods of time, but in the year or so I have had an LCD I have not suffered the problem once, I noticed it stopped the day I made the change. Some people...
Hey evaove, do you think once you get this installed on your 939 CPU you could let us know how good a job it does cooling it for you? I have the same HSF on my 478 P4 atm and intend on using it in a 939 system soon.
Just post in this thread or something if you can remember. :)
Thanks.
Well that seals it, blu ray will be a success and almost guarentee it will beat HD-DVD, hands down to I'd say. With that level of support, one of the biigest playing cards being the PS3's support HD-DVD doesnt stand a snow balls chance in hell.
We dont know yet that current socket 939 boards WONT support dual core CPUs. Especially the up and coming ones such as the NF4. I've seen a few times mention that its very likely they will. 939 is meant to be THE socket for AMD for the next year and a half to 2 years, so unless they continue to...
Fark man, get a refund that?s terrible. You pay all that money and have all those problems? If there is ever a time in your life you are going to complain I strongly suggest you do it now. Using this forum post as a reference so you don?t forget to mention any points. Tell them all the problems...
I?m interested to know to, also how does the weight of the MX-1000 compare to the MX-500? I know it'll be heavier because of the battery but was the change bothersome to anyone?
I can understand arredondo's point there, maybe not all mx1000's are effected but clearly his mouse is suffering that problem. As a gamer I can understand first hand how that can cause you some nasty problems in game.
But it is true they dont say its a gaming mouse, so I suppose you cant...
Nevermind guys I found out the problem, the CPU is actually a MOBILE 3.06ghz, but he marketed it as a desktop and mobile chip i assumed laptop 3.06 CPUs and desktop ones were the same. It seems the mobile 3.06 chips have a multiplier of 12 so you need a desktop mobo capable of very high FSB...
Ok I have an ASUS P4PE which uses the 845 chipset and is supposed to support the 533FSB 3.06ghz HT CPU. Now I was able to get one at a good price off ebay and I have received it, the guy assures me it works perfectly and he has a great profile so I'm inclined to believe him. Upon plugging the...
On a PC I can do way more than an xbox. In one night I can play a MMORPG with thousands of other people from around the world, do my homework, browse the net, chat on MSN, listen to music, watch a movie and a crap load of other stuff I can do with a PC all from the comfort of the one place. And...
If your getting a 3500+ (which is the best of the 3), forgot a 9800PRO unless you dont game much. If you are a gamer then get a GPU more worthy of such a good processor, namely a 6800GT or something.
Might want to ditch the X800XT PE and get a X800PRO ViVo and just do a BIOS flash to make it into a X800XT PE, with the extra money you save if you want you can get a better cooler for the card and you will have saved yourself a decent amount.
I had a 9800pro, sold it off for a good price on ebay and got a 6800 vanilla. Was a cheap and worthwhile upgrade.
It's a great card so I recommend the 6800.
I upgraded from a 9800pro to a 6800NU (after getting a good price for the 9800pro on ebay) and it was a great improvment over my 9800pro. Well worth the cash and performs very close to my friends x800pro, and hes got a faster CPU to boot.
So I'm very happy with mine but check anandtech's...
I agree with the first 2 lines there but when looking at the cheaper alternatives, don?t look past the 6800 non ultra. Its knocks the crap out of 9800XTs and below and is extremely cheap. In some cases eg doom 3 even beating out the X800pro. I upgraded from a 9800pro to a 6800NU and after...
HI I have had the fortune of never really having a hard drive die on my before so I'm not familiar with what the click of death sounds like. About a week or 2 ago my hard drive suddenly started making a very loud vibrating noise. The funny thing was it started making the noise the second I...
Although it?s been said many times I'll reassure again, scaling on modern LCDs is very good. On the desktop there is no reason to run in anything other than its native res. In games however if your finding you need to bolster your FPS by dropping resolution, have no fear there is no noticeable...
Big deal if you have to scale it down to 1024x768, my hitachi 16ms screen scales down to 1024x768 from its native 1280 res extremely well with no real loss of image quality in games. Only on the desktop do I notice it. Surely your Samsung would be just as good a scaler if not better?
