why does my computer boot so slow?

Thanks for your reply, It's just that the nic is used and plugged into a router... any other ideas?

computer keeps rebooting

I have almost the same problem, 'cept with a different asus mainboard.. (it doesn't have raid) I lowered the clock speed, then it worked... so I returned it, and the second one did the exact same thing... Today, I was a mwave, and 2 other guys with asus mainbaords also had the same problem...

why does my computer boot so slow?

Hello All, I have a p4EE 3.2 ati 9800xt abit ic7g maxtor 160gb sata 8m 1g corsair twinx (with led's) sound blaster audigy and for some reason, it loads slower than my previous computer (2.4ghz) I notice that the hard drive light doesn't even start to light up until the windows status...

Thanks for the reply, I forgot to mention, that this is a fresh install of win xp.... so I didn't have any other drivers before hand... I guess i'll try the card in another system... I'll let you know what happenes.

Hi all System ABIT IC7G 2x Corsair 512MB CAS 2.0 with LED's Maxtor 160GB SATA 8MB buffer Intel 3.2GHz Extreme Edition SB Audigy 2.0 Gainward 5950 350watt powersupply'ed case Problem I can't seem to install the video card... when I do, it says there's a picture of the card in device manager...

Best CPU available for my old BX slot1

Doh!.. sorry forgot you guys would need that type of information. I don't have the model number with me, but it is a first generation Intel BX mainboard. I got it when the PII 350 first came out. I'll post the model number when I get home tonight :) thanks again!

Laptop Upgrades

Hello, I have a Dell Inspiron 7000, and was wondering if there is a way to upgrade the video and CPU. I notice that the Video card isn't on board, so I think I can buy a better one, but how about the processor? any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Joker4hire

Thanks for the replys guys. Well.. I went ahead and purchased the TT volcano 7+ (the only one is my budget) and some artic silver (this any good?) How low should I see my temps drop to?.. is copper that much better than aluminum?

How hot is too hot for 1.6a P4 at 2.5

Hello, I have a 1.6a at 2.5 running at 1.65v with stock HSF on an ABIT TH7II (old 850chipset) Everything works out great until I play warcraft III, it freezes a lot, and when I check the temp. after rebooting, its roughtly at 60c. Is this too hot?.. will this cause the CPU to throttle down...

Starcraft better then Prime95?

A litte bit off topic but, I can play WCIII all day long after my 1.6a at 2.4, but it just has a problem booting.. I have to reset it at least once for it to boot properly... it is set at 1.65 volts, but when I check it, it says ~1.54 maybe that is the problem? MB Abit th7II? (has ath 850 chipset)

oh yeah, your right, cold boot... doh!! so more voltage 'eh?.. I have it at 1.55 now... how high should I put it?

Why doesn't my 1.6a boot the first time but boots the second?

Pretty much what the title says, I have a 1.6a at 2.4 ghz... windows fails to boot when the PC first turns on (hard boot) but if I were to hit the reset button, it works fine, and I can play games and such. Any advice?..
