Please help me with this Security Camera Computer

It could just be an internal serial header. Why don't you pull up the specs (using Aopen's website) on the old motherboard and take a look at what it is. You might just have to get an add-in PCI serial card with an internal header on it. Eric

Limited or no connectivity

Have you tried a different port on the router? Individual ports can go bad. Either try a different port or try connecting just to the DSL/cable modem. Eric

Networking Question

Well, if the PC with the 2 NICs is a gateway, you can just add the entry to the routing table via the command line ("route ?" for commands), or you can use Routing and Remote access. But, you'll still need to tell your default gateway about where to go to get to the other subnet. ERic

Not as hot as I thought...Comcast Speed Upgrade 6mbps for 10 dollars more per month

I'm also in the Seattle area. All of Comcast's 68.XXX.XXX.XXX routers are fine for me. By the time it leaves them it's usually around 10ms. Not that it matters, but yeah, I've been pretty happy with Comcast.

I'm basically just asking whether or not they are inheritantly unstable. Obviously, if I had a single drive installed and it died, the data would be gone too. So, is the chance of the RAID failing , not the physical disk (you could still use the disk after reformatting/rebuilding array), very large?

NForce 4 Raid 0 Stability (General)

I've got a raid 0 setup with two WD 120 GB SATA 7200 RMP drives on a NForce 4 Asus A8N-SLI motherboard. It runs great, but what kind of stability should be expected of it? In other words, is it less stable than just running a single SATA/PATA drive? Thanks in advance for any help, Eric

HP Athlon 64 3300+ at Frys (seattle) $600 AR

Apparently you guys don't count your time and hassle. I've built plenty of PCs for my company, and as it stands now, buying something like this is hands down better than building right now. Plus, if something doesn't work just take it back to the store. I'm talking about non-gaming PCs obviously.

Poll: Rationalize the denominator?

I don't find Stewart's book crap, there's things I like about it and things I don't, but in the end I consider it a fairly adequate calculus book. After all, it's only a means to practice problems and you can still get into the formal definition of limits, epsilon/delta/n arguments if you so desire.

Anyone have any Emerilware non-stick pans?

Yes. They are great. I have the whole set of the non-stick ones. Like all expensive cookware, you can't wash them in the dishwasher. I have a few all-clad pans too (which the Emerilware are, just less expensive) and can hardly tell the difference. Eric

Way to limit someone's bandwidth over a network?

Only expensive routers and software firewalls like ISA do stuff like that. I'm sure there's probably a free Linux based firewall that does the same thing, but I'm not familiar with all their features.

punch down tool

If you're just going to home depot and getting the little Ideal keystone jacks they usually come with a little plastic punch down. It works fine. As long as you take your time it will do a good job. Just my opinion.
