why does a car's subwoofer seem boomier than a hometheater's subwoofer?

1. Most people put 300 watts to a 12" sub in a car that's maybe 12' X 8' X 4' 2. Most home stereos are a 10" sub with 100 watts of power for a room that's 15' X 15'x 10'. Bigger sub with more power in a smaller area. Means more BOOOOOMMMM.

I just got a serial to usb converter cable from newegg. I'm trying to hook me Skycaddie/GPS up to my new computer which doesn't have a serial port. I installed the driver and it appears to be working in the Hardware profile list (shows as a port on com4). It will not connect to the skycaddie...

Yes Finally a Machine

So your saying do not get a SLI motherboard or do not get a 7800GTX? Why would I not be able to upgrade the bios? On the motherboard or video card? So I should run 2 512mb sticks. I'll need to check the price but I maybe able to get 4 512mb sticks of OCZ gold for about the same price.

Thanks going to rethink the Plextor and WD drives. Should I go with 2 gig of cheaper ram? The OCZ stuff is pricey.

Liteon 411s or 811s???

Is the 811s worth the extra 50 bones? It is only adding 4X to the +R side of the house. From my reading here -R media is the way to go. They both burn -R at 4X. What to do? Buy it or not?

Cable Modem- EitherCard or USB 2.0

Question should I run my cable modem through an eithernet card or through a USB 2.0 port? Which do you think would be faster? I'm only getting around 2 mb a sec. so I'm thinking they would be about the same.

Wierd Motherboard Problem

Installed new power supply - now I think I ruined my system!! HELP!

Just to be sure did you check the power switch on the back of the Power supply? Should be on 115volt but it may have been set to 220volt. That could have cause a system fry.

CD-RW Problem

I just installed a new Asus 4012A CD-RW drive. It reads burned and origional cds fine. When I try to burn it tells me to check the cd it maybe full. I've tried 3 different brands of CDRs. Even the one that came with the drive will not work. These are brand new CDRs fresh out of the case...

XP eating up HD space

I'll miss the 8MB because I'm gready. 8mb is 8mb it's mine I want it back!! I didn't know HD makers cheated you with mis-marking the drive sizes. I love this place! A wealth of information!!

XP eating up HD space

GA-7vrxp bios settings 2000+ XP

I think I figured it out. As always it helps if you read the manual before you start "F"ing around with it. There's the 100/133 toggle switch. It is set to 100 defult plan as day in the manual. I'll flip it to 133 when I get home. Jerry has a telethon each year for people like me!!

GA-7vrxp bios settings 2000+ XP

I have clock speed dip switches. I left them in the AUTO setting. I'll change them to 12.5X and see of that works. I should have tought of that. CPU should be set to 12.5X 133 CPU CLOCK SPEED. Correct?

GA-7vrxp bios settings 2000+ XP

Ok call me stupid. I can not for the life of me get my CPU to register correctly. It's a 2000+ Xp on a GA-7vrxp mb. I've changed the bios atleast 15 times and XP is still say I have a 1.26g processor. The dos boot screen doesn't show XP 2000+ either. What the hell should my bios settings...

Power to light LED
