    If I'm in a new city, I find the fattest cop I can, and ask the best place to eat. I've never had one get offended, and I've eaten at some pretty nice places.

    There are potentially 12 if you include sharps and flats that might occur in written music (they would be called accidentals). These are the same notes that would occur in a chromatic scale.

    A musical scale consists of 7 (8 if you consider that the top note repeats). Do, Re, Mi, Fa, So, La, Ti, Do. If you're talking about how many combinations of major, minor, etc scales there are, that might require a little more digging. It's been several years since I looked at music theory.

    Whatever you get, keep in mind that the camera has a 1.6 focal length, so any lens, multiply it by 1.6.

    You won't be able to log in unless you have a local account on the box. You won't be able to log in as local admin unless you know the password (ie. a local account on the box). You might have some luck with a password changer if you can find one that works. Other than that, call your IT...

    After making a complaint to the HOA, I'd install an electric fence running around the perimeter of the yard. Dogs are smart (most of them), so it won't take them a long time to figure it out. Once they do, take the charger down. Put it back up as necessary, to remind them if they start...

    I extended the transmit and receive range on one of my radios, and I'm working on modifying another radio from a transceiver to a 10 meter propogation beacon.

    Electrical geeks - DC/AC inverter question

    Some electical equipment won't work well with inverters, because they use a modified sine wave when charging. I bought one a few months back, and it said not to plug a cell phone charger in for the same reason. Take another look at your instructions. There might be more info in there.

    33 years old here... triglycerides were in the neighborhood of 250 last time I had my cholesterol checked. I've been taking Lipitor for awhile, but I think it might be time to try something else. LDL is normal. HDL is a little on the low side.

    You might be able to request deferred adjudication, or whatever they call it in your jurisdiction. Keep your record clean for X months, ticket is dismissed, and you only pay court costs. Ask the judge.

    Actually, the best thing to say is something like, "Officer, I do not consent to a search of my private property." When they ask if they can search, it is often in an ambiguous manner so that a simple yes or no can be construed as consent.
