prevent laptop from connecting to neighbor's wifi?

also, if you go ahead and let yours connect to their network, then you can choose it and click "disconnect" and the status of that network will change from "automatic" to "manual" and it will never auto connect to them again. (unless you choose theirs and tell it to connect again)

Thin client terminal and RDP over 802.11b

i figured it all out. (i think) I didnt see the "deny logon locally" setting before. So even though the administrators group has logon privelage, i added each of the other members of administrators (except myself) to the deny gpo. Hopefully, the deny with their name will override the allow...

Help with scanning documents into small files

I want to take all my paper that ive kept over the years and scan it all into files and throw away the paper. Like invoices, loan papers, insurance declarations, etc... If i scan them as jpg, they are about 150k a piece at 100dpi. Thats not too big, but isnt there a way to get them smaller...

Problem getting custom resolution with ATI

powerstrip worked, but i just gave the card away to a friend (for what i paid for it). i dont like running add on software, if the driver doesnt support it, i dont want it. I went back to my trusty GF3 with a older driver that has 1400x1050 as a native res.

Does ATI drivers support 1400 x 1050?

I know the mobo doesnt have speed control on the cpu, just the case fans. It is a Intel board and Intel processor and Intel fan, so i figured it would all be designed to work together.

No, its not anything controlled by the bios or motherboard. The way i understand it is the fan itself gets the 12v input all the time, and it has a thermistor in the fan itself that is supposed to regulate the speed, and that speed is just reported back to the Mb through the 3rd wire like any...

I just built a computer for someone, and XP says there are no updates available, HELP!!

I had that same problem a few computers ago and the only thing that ever fixed it was a re-install. The update site would never show that it was checking for updates, you should usually see 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% and mine would just sit there and not do anything. I tried and tried to fix it, but...
