By the way it's not so difficult to understand that is a typo error, C1 used to be an old northwood core stepping.
omicron(that's greek too ;)) I made this matrix just to be easier for us to see the steppings. The site of intel I think is wrong about the core steppings it's not C1 but C0.
You have absolutely right my friend, I tried the latest 1011-2 and my mobo couldn't boot. Finally with the 6th time and pressing all the time right Alt+F2 my mobo boot, and I flashed the 1008 final bios. NO more beta bios for me anymore.

Now about the first wave of motherboards with the sis 648 chipset.
Shuttle AS45GTR is off course a motherboard with all the features
we expect to see, but has a hard time with ddr memory @400 mhz and
scores lower than SiS 648 Reference board.
ABIT SR7-8X I think is overall a bad motherboard...
Anyone knows if the new motherboards with the 648 chipset can handle 3 dimms with ddr memory and the fsb can run @ 133 mhz in the same time ??? :) I think is a stupid think from intel to limit @ 4 banks :(
