Hey , BenSkywalker
my nostalgic memories involve listening to gamebasement.com radio. ;)
Those were the days !
Now I lost my mechwarrior2 disc and can't listen it's awesome music anymore.
No, its like I said, Voodoo1 with 2 MB extra Texture Memory .
Only Canopus made those. Click on that link above.
It was top performer compared to other 3Dfx Voodoo cards.
edmundoab, I see the only thing missing in your collection is Voodoo1 6MB variety.
I happen to have it, its Canopus Pure3D. :)
Edit: found a review here. Good nostalgia trip.
Add 'Savage' to the list, its multiplayer only.
And its a great one at that. Best muliplayer of the year IMHO.
I agree on CoD and KotOR.
EDIT There is Savage demo, try it before you buy it . :)
AbusedFish2,
Throughout this entire thread only one guy said his monitor failed after couple of months.
It doesnt sound like a high failure rate, but who knows you might be the next one.
My monitor also makes loud boom, I think it degausses every time you turn it on, so I am not worried.
Can...
Josh
I bought one grade A like 6 months ago from allthingstech
and now kids are fighting every day over who will play on this gorgeous 21".
Loser gets to play on 19" ghetto monitor. ;)
I see they have some in stock right now.
I scored 9800np (sapphire red ) for $182. They probably only have one or two of each item.
After I finished ordering I checked again and 9800np was gone.
Yeah, Valve found a way to fool ppl and collect money months (or is it years ?) before actual game is delivered.
I see XGI ad flickering on top of this page, it should be bundled with Duke Nukem Forever coupon.
Wait, DNF coupon have been bundled with TNT2 already ! Hehe.
Rebate was good and I still have that card in my system. Plays all games just fine so far.
Will upgrade when HL2 or Doom3 is out whichever comes first. That deal was truely hot one.
There are also SE cards with 128-bit interface, I just had to return one of those.
Yeah, I ordered 256-bit SE but they ( gameve.com in my case ) shipped me 128-bit-4 pipelines SE anyway.
In the end I decided not to buy any SE , period.
Circuit City has 9800np for $249 with possible pricematch...
Local BB has 2 cards, 180320 which is Infineon according to post above.
The other card is 160322 . Yes its 6, not 8 I looked very carefully.
Anyone has an idea what it might be ?
EDIT 160322 has Infineon 3.0 , oh well...
Scibbi, I checked both places . Whatever good prices they show
dont stand up after shipping charges are added. The one you say you got for $210
showed $62 ground shipping for me (NY) so its $261 total. Maybe they raised prices, I dont know.
The other site shipping ranged from $52 to $99. Nothing...
I was originally upset when 1.0 refurb showed up. But it does 216 fsb rock solid
with latest BIOS. And thats with all three memory slots populated , not too shabby.
Bottom line, dont be upset if you get 1.0. Put ArcticSilver on NB , flash 1.9 BIOS and it will be just as good as 2.0
Refurb Abit NF7-S v. 1.0 here as well. Came with everything included,
works just fine for about a month already. Curiously, it came in a box with 2.0 sticker on it.
Got me all smiling but no, it was 1.0 inside, grrrr .
BTW thats my upgrade from refurb Epox 8K7A bought from newegg 2 years ago...
Got one with 2.0 sticker on the box. Woohoo !
Opened it and its 1.0 mobo inside. @$%# !
EDIT
Works just fine anyway. Replaced my old 8K7A,
also bought refurb from Newegg 2 years ago.
Got my grade A few days ago and everything is perfect. It was made in September 1999 , looks like brand new.
Picture is superb and very bright. Had to reduce brightness all way to 22 from 100.
110% satisfied customer , :)
You need PSU with 12V ATX connector, thats the square one you are talking about.
Some Nforce mobos like Abit NF7 will work without it but not AU13. On AU13 fans will spin but CPU wont have any power.
All PSUs compatible with Pentium 4 have 12V ATX.
9500 has 4 pipelines, softmod enables 8 pipelines on this particular card.
In case it doesnt work ( checkerboarding ) you can still softmod it to 9800 with 4 pipelines that do work.
And you can still overclock it too. Either way you can make it a better performing card.
No its not similar to 8RDA+ . Different design but it has MCP2-T and same features.
I tested AU13 briefly , you need PSU with separate 12V ATX plug for it. Wont work without it.
Layout is much better compared to any other nForce2 board, all connectors are in the right
places. BIOS overclocking...
1ManArmy,
yeah its not easy to switch. I've been with Nvidia since Riva128.
But times change, ATI is the way to go these days.
Recalling Nvidia vs 3dfx wars ppl who stuck with 3dfx look rather silly now.
EDIT Looking at your Led Zeppelin sig
you can guess where my sig is from . ;)
