Fernando,
Thanks for all your work regarding this issue. I need your guidance for my situation. I have an Asus Rampage IV extreme x79 motherboard. The latest bios from Asus is 3101 and has raid option rom 3.5.xxxx. Do you have a modified bios with 11.6 option rom? I am assuming I would...
Actually....I am on the four Sata 2 connectors...so far no sign of the faulty chipset bug...
Oh...I have overclocked the 2600K! running very stable at 5.1 Ghz. I will be posting a thread in the watercooling forum with a bunch of CPU benchmarks and benchmarks with the three GTX 580's!!

I just built a Monster Sandy Bridge "Beast" Rig....I wanted to run a OCZ Revodrive X2 240, but apparently because of OCZ and/or ASUS compatability issues the drive will only run at about half speed....each company is pointing the finger the other way....Here is a screenshot of the RevoDrive X2...
I agree...and I do not know why...Must either be firmware or just how the Sandforce controller works...Would love to know why there is such a gap between 4k writes and 4k reads..

Thanks!! Yes..I thtink it is fine based on what I have read on some other forums...I will be staying under 1.5v....However...I have the itch to go 1.55-1.6..and get a suicide shot at 5.0Ghz!!

Yes...no question...When Windows 7 loads in 20 seconds...it is noticeable...Programs load instantly, searches are instant...amazing!
Thanks!! Here is what it looks like..

SteelSix....Good eye!
After installing all three cards with a backplate...I found that two of the cards had much higher temps.... after multiple attempts at reapplying TIM and testing I narrowed it down to the backplates were not allowing enough contact from the block to the GPU...so I...
Well..I have a Cooler Master UCP 1100 which is rated to handle up to 1200W
Based on some calculatons I have read.....with a full load on the system...
3 GTX 280's overclocked = Approx 660W
Core i7 overclocked = Approx 270W
Hard Drives/Optical Drives
Water Pumps / 14 rad fans...
I have had a chance to tweak the system some more. I am now running at 4.3 Ghz @ DDR3-1724, 172x25 GTX 280 SLI now at 740/1540/2460
I have attched some new benchmark runs.
3D Mark Vantage and 3D Mark06 plus some CPU benches
Crysis Warhead @ 1920x1200 No Anti ailiasing / 16xQ...
Actually I just a Intel® X25-M 80GB SSD from Intel.....
Suprisingly...no the cards are are within 1-2C of each other...and card 1 is usually the hottest...

Thanks for all the nice comments from everyone....
I am continuing to tweak the system and will post some updated benchmarks over the next few days...Trying to get over the 36K mark in 3D mark Vantage...I will also be picking up a copy of GTA IV and running some benchmarks..

Actually I just ordered a Intel® X25-M 80GB SSD from Intel yesterday...It will be interesting to see if it is faster than two velociraptors in RAID 0

I love building watercooled computers as a hobby! It is a great stress reliever from my day job although my wife thinks I am nuts!!
I also like playing games with all the eye candy maxed out at high resolutions...

If you can believe it...The third card is the coolest!
Idle
GPU1 34C
GPU2 34C
GPU3 33C
Load running Crysis Warhead maxed out
GPU1 48C
GPU2 50C
GPU3 47C
I do not think having them in series is making too much difference...

Thank you! I added the specs on my signature. Yes Core i7 965 @ 4.25 Ghz! 12GB DDR3-1704.
I have run the Warhead benchmark tool at 1900x1200 with DX10 and all enthusiast settings with AA 16XQ...Averages about 40-50FPS!
I will post some pictures of those runs later..

Just updated my rig...Sold off the Core 2 QX9650 / 8800GTX System and went with Core i7 and TRI SLI GTX 280!! Ended up using only one of the Danger Den Backplates...could not get good contact on core... The Bitspower fittings worked nice..Temps idle at 35C and never go above 50C!!
Here are...
Ran across this today!
http://www.microcenter.com/byos/byos_si...roduct_results.phtml?product_id=234367
ATI Radeon X850 XT Platinum Edition 256MB PCI-E x16 Video Card
149.00 after rebate!!! That is a great deal! even without the rebate....

Just an FYI....while I as shopping at my local Micro Center, I noticed they have a new dedicated watercooling section that has Danger Den products. I asked an associate about it and he said that Micro Center was the only brick and mortar retailer in the US that carries Danger Den products...
Seems like a good deal....
microcenter.com has the ATI Radeon X850XT 256MB AGP Video Card for 299.99 - $50 rebate = $249.99 + shipping. I think this is the lowest price on this card. especially nice for anyone who has AGP.
Item can be picked up at the store for the same price.
