Is there a point to getting over 60 fps with an LCD that is 60hz?

Good choice of monitor. But the monitor will not - unlike a CRT - refresh the picture 60 times per second, it will only update a certain pixel when needed. The point of having a 9800Pro w/ your 2001FP is that you can run games in 1600*1200, aka native resolution. Interpolation isn't something...

Since the monitor doesen't have a built-in tv-tuner, you ought to have one then. So I guess your tv-tuner shall have an audio-outport.

iPod question - can it be used as a normal drive in XP

"When you connect an iPod to a Windows XP machine does the iPod show up in Windows Explorer like a normal drive (i.e. the D: drive?)" Yes, it does. But you'll to have a program such as iTunes to transfer music into it (of course you can add .mp3 files into it, but your iPod won't play 'em then).

Best LCD for Gaming?

What size ? Hercules Prophetview 920Pro Dvi (17") is a good recommendation. It's using the Hydis' 20-ms panel that has achieved famous due to its good performance in gaming (see Tom's Hardware i.e).

Prophetview 920 Pro DVI vs. VP171b

If you need good gaming performance, your stuck with the 20ms or 16ms 17" TFT monitors (if you can't afford the new Dell 20" TFT 16ms). Most gamers suffer from ghosting on TFT monitors, except for the new 16ms or 20ms. And remember the vp171b uses the AU Optronic panel, i.e 262k native colors...

Usually Notepad and Photoshop for images editing. But I got Dreamviewer by school and was impressed, it did create pretty OK code, though.

All the monitors you listed are using the AU Optronics 16-ms back panel. I would go with the Hyundai 20-ms panel instead, it seems to be a better one w/ 16millions colors and less ghosting. One very nice monitor using the Hyundai panel is Hercules Prophetview 920Pro. Edit: Or wait for the new...

MX500 Yes! I can see it, but i can be because of my Icemat. But it's not recommended to change LED, the mouse doesen't work as well w/ a blue LED.

Samsung 172W(Widescreen) LCD Review!

Actually I have never really understand what this montior has.. I mean it's a mix of a 17 and a 15 LCD? Wrong resolution anyone? Why loose 256 pixelns in height and not gain anything in width? Why not an ordinary 17" LCD and I'll have more pixels, same width but maybe a bigger black frame...

damn, i want an LCD...

I have the same problem, in school I have a laptop w/ LCD (doh!) and after a day sitting to a LCD I can't stand my crt :P But I'll probably soon buy the new Samsung 172X (?).
