Why does everyone always choose AMD ??

All I know is that I got an XP1500+ for $30 brand new that ran 1.75ghz right out of the box. When was the last time you bought a 1.7g P4 for $30? :D

Can't do 3200+???

I got this stupid thing booted @ 198, non-mobile 2600+, I doubt it will pass any testing though. Vcore is at 1.825, made it to windows at 1.8, but kicked out as soon as I ran anything :(

Can't do 3200+???

My 0405 2600+ is horrible. Wont boot into windows even @ 200 with 1.85vcore :( And thats watercooled chipset and cpu, and pc3500 ram set with the slowest timings :(

OC possible with Mushkin pc2700 level2 + Barton 2600+?

Yeah, I realized that when I tried the jump up to 197 and the first time I tried booting it gave me a ntoskernel error saying it was corrupted. Dropped it back to 175 and it was fine again :( I'm just gonna wait to get faster ram, i dont feel like ruining the stuff I got :)

OC possible with Mushkin pc2700 level2 + Barton 2600+?

I have it running at 174fsb right now with RAM at 2225, and stock voltage on an Asus a7n8x-dlx. My brother has the same setup, but using pc3200 RAM, and he could do anywhere from 194-200fsb w/o a problem. I'm just not sure how high this RAM will go, and was wondering what (if its possible) it...

Um......a little virus help, cant open task manager or regedit :\

I went into safe mode and turned off anything suspicious in msconfig, and deleted the registry keys I found to get rid of the wupdated.exe virus, but I still cant get into regedit or task manager with a regular boot-up :\

Well, I guess I got myself a virus. Norton calls it "Bloodhound.Pack" or something like that, hiding itself as wupdated.exe in windows/system32. I cant delete the file, because its in use. And I cant turn it off, because every time I open task manager, it shuts itself off in about 1 second...

Video works with rightclick/saveas, but not streaming?

Actually, saving videos to the hard drive isnt even a sure thing. I still get it error'ing out sometimes with vids saved to my HDD and not streaming :\ Any suggestions?

I have the latest divx codecs, but for some reason most .mpegs I try to watch online wont work. Windows Media player opens, then I get the Error window where it asks if you would like to send the error report, and then WMP shuts down. It doesnt give an explicit reason as to why it shuts down...

This damn 120mm Pana m1a is a little loud for my liking @ 12v, but not quite cutting it @ 7v, but would like to have it variable, thus dont want to use a resistor. Pot that will handle .45a @ 12v? :|

My computer wont play any games other than counter-Strike.

I'm his brother :) Its not heat, checked that, 44c cpu, 27c ambient. The vid card has mild to no OC. What its been doing tho, the undervolted cpu/agp slot suggestion seems feasible, dont really see it being a software problem, HDD died about a month ago, new one went in with fresh install of XP...

Oh, I didnt read the whole post. I guess its your own fault for a) letting people mess with your pc, and b) making it possible for your PC to be on, but have no cooling.

Try switching all the fan connections onto the mobo. I used to have an Abit mobo that wouldnt even boot if you didnt have a fan connected to header1 on the mobo. :\ |

HELP!! Case Grounding Problem (I Think!)

All the power button does it short the 2 pins. If you really wanted to, you could start your PC with a screwdriver. If the switch was bad, the pc wouldnt even begin to boot. So rule that out. Get a new PSU, it seems to be the center of your problem :|

Real quick question...concerning vid card purchase.

I called, they confirmed it doesnt come with the VIVO dongle. I guess I'll wait and see what pin setup the VIVO output on the card has (4,7,9) and call Leadtek and see if I can get one off of them :P

Real quick question...concerning vid card purchase.

Ok, basically I want to get the 5600 Ultra, and have it definitely come with VIVO function, as well as coming with the VIVO dongle. I looked on newegg, and from the pictures, it looks like the 5600 comes with the dongle, whereas the 5600 Ultra does not. They both say the have VIVO capability...

Trying out an Asylum FX 5200 Ultra.....

Bah, both the VIVO dongle and the s-video connector on the card are female...... the male part of the dongle is 8 pin, the female part on the card is only 4 pin, so I've determined its solely an s-video connector. Oh well, we just had the card, I'm returning it and just gonna get a 5800 Ultra :P...

Trying out an Asylum FX 5200 Ultra.....

So far so good, but.......they give you a VIVO dongle.........yet nowhere to plug it in to. Is there something I'm missing, or is this just an extra/unnecessary part? I was really hoping to be able to use the composite output, but I guess I could make due with an s-video to composite wire...
