The FedEx estimated deivery date is WAY OVERESTIMATED. My dv1000 shipped from Shanghai on Sept. 29 with an estimated date of October 14. It actually arrived 2 days later on Oct. 1. Just track it on fedex's website and you'll see
Should be even cheaper now. DVD/CD-RW drive is now a free upgrade instead of $50. Price for the dv1000 with the lowest options, using education discount, and $100 rebate is 886.06. Use coupons and cashback shopping links to knock off about $40 more.
1) Check the MPIO YahooGroup. Under their files section they have vocie samples recorded the FL100. Judge for yourself if they sound good enough, or search through the group
2) It does not act as a USB Mass Storage device. In order to transfer files, you need to use the included MPIO...
mindless1 is right, this is not the same PSU model reviewed by Tom's Hardware. Just a heads up. Get the newer one at newegg or directron to get something similar to the one reviewed.
No pic, but the radio shack part number is 260-0247. Looks similar to other adapters on the market. And yes, it does work with XP. Hmm, I'm using a PS2 joystick myself, so I haven't run across the reversed axes problem.
These usually cost $9.99 at Radio Shack, but they scan in at $4.97
Why purchase a cheaply made gamepad for your PC when you can use your PS1/PS2 Dualshocks to play games? Just plug your controller into this adapter, and then plug the adapter into your PC's USB port. No drivers needed.

Hmm, seems some earlier revisions of this LCD (the FPD1830 as per the part number given by overstock) had problems with DVI connections. I wonder if these reconditioned units have this problem? See this thread I found at Google groups here.
Are these specs any good?
Contrast ratio 350:1 (typical)
Response times 30 mSec (rise + fall typical)
Brightness 200 candelas per square meter (minimum)
250 candelas per square meter (typical)
Are these specs decent? Found them at Gateway's spec sheet for this LCD.
Thanks for the info. Actually they quoted me $6.99 for air filters for the 1000 series cases and $4.99 for the smaller cases. And since I live in the same city as their headquarters, I can just pick it up from their shipping department.
I'm thinking about purchasing a Sparkle 350W PSU (the one that got the high praise over at THG), and in my quest for a quiet system, I would probably change the fan to a Panaflo or something similar. My question is, does the Sparkle unit use a pin connection for its fan, or would I have to cut...
I just received an offer for this credit card and noticed it has a Price Protection Plan. Looks like up to $1000 per claim, for a max of $5000 per year. However, you cannot file claims for internet purchases nor PM against internet retailers. Has anyone used this?
Looks like YMMV with the additional 15% coupon since it says at the bottom of the 20% off email "Offer not available with other discounts or promotions."
See the fan here
Want to replace the "Turbo Cooler" clear case fans that came with my Chieftec/Chenming clone aluminum case. Saw these and seems like a good bang-for-the-buck. Anyone have experience with these as case fans? How about for PSU fan replacement?
Picked up one of those aluminum Chieftec/Turbogamer/Turboserver cases at Fry's and was wondering what the specs were (db, CFM) on the clear fans that were included in the rear, similar to those pictured at newegg
Any help appreciated.
Well, the Bay Area Fry's stores are selling the silver version of this case for $85 AR. Picked up mine on Sunday. Sale ends today and they'll probably have a different color for sale on Friday.
Seems if you're lucky, you can find the cases with 2 front USB ports. The display models at the local Fry's did not have them, nor does the box mention anything about them, but the one I purchased today had the 2 ports. Makes the deal a little bit hotter if you pick the right one.

Why don't you pick up some PNY PC2100 that really use true Samsung PC2700 chips. Circuit city carries these 256mb sticks for $49 after rebate. They are single sided, with chips labled TCB3. I'm running a pair at DDR 390 . Others have easily gone over DDR 400 with the same chips.
(Ducking kick from Deeko) Okay, ran UT2003 Demo benchmark, upgraded to DX 8.1b and came up with the following results:
1024x768
Flyby: 161.9
Bot: 69.4
1280x960
Flyby: 115.9
Bot: 63.5
These seem to be in line with what others are getting. Still getting 10200 3dMarks, but oh well...
System as follows:
p4 1.8A oc'ed to 2.8 Ghz (156 FSB)
512 MB of DDR 333 running @ DDR 390 (195 Mhz)
Leadtek GF4 ti 4200 set at 300/560 using Detonator 40.72 Drivers
Abit BG7 motherboard
When I first installed the board, I got 13000 3dMarks with this setup. Getting greedy, I flashed the BIOS...
I tried Jugernot's suggestion of doing a repair, and it did, sort of. It switched the drive letter between my system partition and my data (program) partition, so all the programs I installed were exepecting d: instead of the new c:. Fed up, I bit the bullet and did a clean install. Oh well :(
All you BG7 bios upgraders didn't run into any of these problems? I called abit tech support and they suggested the cop-out method of doing a new re-install of win2k. C'mon. There has to be a better way. damn windows.....or drivers......whatever.......
I'm running win2k on an Abit BG7, and all the drivers loaded fine with the default bios. Well, I wanted to use the 3:4 cpu/mem ratio with the low hardware strap, and found from this forum that I needed the latest BIOS to do this correctly.
I updated to the AX Bios, and now USB 2.0 and the...
