I believe that is a second or third generation imac and it will take PC100 type memory. Try it and see if it works the slot is located at the bottom of the machine. Open the door and take a look. It was only the first year of imacs that took SO-Dimms.

Thanks I did try it with just the bare essentials and still the same problem. I guess a new power supply is in order. I will look for one later today and see if that helps.
