Need a material with extremely high friction but no adhesion.

Two ideas. Maybe try using a balloon or examination glove wrapped around the gripper. Also if you get ahold of some foam (say about 1/2 in thick and have a pad on each gripper), if it gives very easily it should contour(?) slightly to the shape of what you are trying to pick up and help grip...

Why Is "Reliable" TCP So Unrealiable

In regards to newsgroups I generally find most of the incomplete file errors are due to the newsgroup provider dropping messages.

Thanks for all the responses. I tried out the vmware trial and it is exactly what I was after. Fedora as the host and win95->2k3. Was an easy sell to the boss too, infact I got myself a license for home use as well. Thanks again folks, ~SmoiL

I was thinking about doing mutli-boot as well, and will do that as a last resort. The main problem with that is the time involved in switching OSes. When checking a design change waiting several minutes for each can be a real pain. I came across some good info on vmware and that may be an option.

I figured out why our lists have different results. I calculated based on number order being fixed, whereas you allowed for a rearrangement of digits. The first example I found was 9967. In that order my method cant get 24, but you can by moving the digit order to 6799. Of course since all...

In my list I wasn't searching for just unique combinations of numbers, order was a factor. However I parsed the list and extracted all dupes, leaving a total of 233 unique instances. You can view them here Note: the way I parsed the results gave presedence to numerically higher combinations...

Ill put in another vote for the Asus P4S800D-E Deluxe, I'm using one and find it to be excellent. At first I was wary of using an SiS chipset but it seems they are moving back toward quality again.

Thanks for the heads up on the different proc's (i.e. P4m and Pentium M) as well as the info on Centrino. I sorta had a general idea on what was going on but it clears it up more. As far as work tasks; a fair amount of database programming, web design/updating with a splash of Gimp/Photoshop...

Need a reliable long life lappy....

I saw the deal on the T41, looks pretty sweet. Friend of mine is looking for something to use at school., i.e. no games but lightweight, wireless built in, no problems, great battery life, etc. Any reccomendations? Mac -> PC, it doesnt matter, long as it works.

9600 card with dual-DVI?

I'm looking for a 9600pro or XT with dual dvi outputs (so I an run 2 2001fp's). If not 9600 is there anything else? A friend of mine is going to pick it up for me in exchange for my AIW 9700pro....so nothing exceeding the value of that card. Thanks a million.

Cooling a 9700 AIW

I will try reseating the hs/f and see how it feels...Anyone know offhand if these cards has a thermal diode akin to those in most cpu's? And if so, any software to give me a reading?

Copy and paste not working - WinXP

DCOM had previously been killed, went ahead and scanned anyway...found nothing, thought perhaps my boss was joking around...wasn't him, so I went back to my roots and rebooted the system....all is fine. I guess XP gets unhappy running for weeks on end.

Copy and paste not working - WinXP
