Throughbred 1700+ from Newegg overclock, wow!

*HOT!* nForce2 review up on Tomshardware for first 3 M/Bs. Asus A7N8X looks like the AMD "King of the Hill"!

The connector is a seperate adapter... it's not in the usual atx stack.. cuz it makes it easier for Asus to include the video connector w/o redo'in the atx stack... if u look on other pics.. the adapter is there w/ a lil cable that connects to mobo =)

P4PE Beeps in Games (Voltage Warning?)

Looks like bad power supply, try swapping that. GF4 4600's draw lotsa power.. so when u run 3d stuff and tax ur card.. it's draws more off ur board... and i guess power supply can't keep up =/

don't use it... only thing it good for is validating your proc for warranty... which it doesn't do a good job @ either.. cuz amd is like =S w/ warranty... maybe from vendor tho

=/... i dunno tho, if u look @ the code.. it's the AXDA1700Box unlike the Pali's which are AX1700Box.. maybe it's just tbred Retail instead of OEM, and it's typo on the 333bus... *As of 2pm today (11/12) they changed it from 333bus to 266bus.. hehe.. guess it just Tbred Retail

trouble overclocking 2.0A

Don't bother with the 2.0A's... i tried oc'ing mine and my friends too, *sighz* i can only get mine to 2.5(125fsb)stable with 1.75vcore... but i only run @ 2.3(115fsb) with 1.625vcore... memory @ 2-2-5 1T, =/ ... my friend's 2.0A won't even go 110 bus with 1.75 =X

Mobile AMD Proc volt's/temps?

I'm tryin to look at the voltage/heat differences between the Mobile Duron 1GHZ, and the Mobile XP 1600+.. since the XP's are on .13 micron, i would think it would run cool enuf to swap with the 1ghz duron in my lappie right now.. =/... any1 got a site that has a list of the two proc's volt and...

AXP 2000+ @ 1.66Ghz. 133fsb vs 166 fsb

that's weird for pcmark.. cuz i compared an oc'ed 1600+ runnin @ 166fsb (which makes it 1743mhz) which is roughly a 2100+... and i had some1's stock 2100+ to compare to on the same motherboard... the 1600+ @ 166fsb got an over 400 gain on the stock 2100+ @ 133fsb... =/

Intel Stock and Arctic Silver

I'm usin my stock w/ as3 and it's a 2.0A @ 2.4.. the temps idle around 38-39.. so its' fine.. too bad proc can't go higher tho.. don't u have agp/pci locK? ... o yea.. good luck tryin to hit 133fsb w/ that thing... it's not very good @ it.. =/ highest i was able to get mine was 125fsb and 121fsb...

1/6 divider on Soyo KT400?

After reading the article and confirming thru email to the author, it appears the Soyo Dragon KT400 has a 1/6 divider!!!! No more ali magik!! :D

only mobo i know w/ the 1/6pci divider is the IWill Magik1 board.. but then it's an Ali chipset.. so even when cranked to 200... it's still fares barely as well as a KT @ 166fsb

Note for people gettin incorrect fsb/cpu mhz speeds on A-XP's

Turn your FSB to 133mhz in bios!! Most is default'ed to 100mhz fsb ... i've seen this posted time after time by people in 40 different fashions. I think we should sticky this so people don't have to waste posts and time to solve the same problem 100 times ^^

Check the stepping on your 1600+.. did you recently get it?.. and from where?... else you might just have an unlucky proc

Is my bios correct?.. or the bundled program and mbm?

I have a chaintech 9ejl1 w/ my p4 2.0... i'm currently runnin @ 2.3 stable.. when i bumped it up to 120bus.. and set vcore to 1.75... the bios reads the vcore to be 1.72, however... the bundled monitor program and mbm 5 reads it as 1.61.... any1 know about how chaintech does the monitorin...

well.. if you go raid 0=death... i used to run raid 0.. lots of corruption errors... i have then switched to a single WD 80G 8mb... works like a charm

Which mobos/chipsets handle HDs over 127G?

from what I read around the net, the newer Intel chipsets(845x, 850x <where x represents any letter version of chipset>) combined w/ WinXP can detect the bigger drives

Anyone have an Apogee 9EJL1?

if u gotta 133fsb p4, it'll run the ram @ 353mhz... (no clue why) instead of 333mhz (pc2700)... so make sure ur pc2700 can take the extra 20mhz... else... get pc3000ram (366mhz)

Building new OCed system, want opinions on whole setup.

for the 4200ti... get a Gainward or MSI card... they both oc very well to almost 4600 speeds (i own both in 2 different machines).. and the price is about the same as the abit and instead of the P4B533-E board.. i rather go w/ the P4B533-V board... the memory controller on the 845Gperforms...

FSB resetting w/ 2.0A after going past 120mhz

Yea, only feels weird since i can go perfectly stable @ 115fsb only @ 1.6v, can't even boot past 120 w/o resetting.. <shrug> gonna try and yoink my bud's 2.0A (we bought ours at same time, but he doesn't oc ^^) and see if his can go past 120 w/o resetting

on both boards i had it run w/ a 1.725vcore, on 120mhz it'll only be stable w/ 1.675 or more... i haven't been able to get it to boot 121+ w/o it resetting to 100... weird... i'm goin to get an asus p4b533-v soon.. hopefully that'll be more merciful to me, but it only confuses me because it did...

Yea, I recently got the board, it doesn't actually let u run odd ratios.... they only let u run 1:1 or 3:4 ratio (and if your p4 is 133fsb, it'll only run the memory @ 353 max), which is locked, so you can't run 100fsb and memory 333mhz for example.. it'll only do 200mhz or 266mhz... i...
