DVI connection stopped working

Seagate 7200.7 noise/vibrations when idling?

I just built a new system with Abit IC7-G mobo, two 80GB S-ATA 7200.7 drives and one regular 80GB IDE 7200.7 drive. It seems that ALL of them start making this "rattling"/vibrating noise when they have been idling for some seconds. As soon as the drives are accessed, they stop making the noise...

Noisy fan in a gigabit switch - what to do

I just bought this Trendnet 8+2 port switch (8 10/100mbps, 2 10/100/1000), and the fan is extremely noisy. Noisier than several of my PC's combined. Is there anything to do about this or should I just find a way to get it as far away from my working environment as possible? TIA

MSI K7N2G power-problem

I just got this new nForce 2 equipped board. I use 4 PC's on a TrendNet KVM switch, so I can use one monitor/mouse/keyboard for 4 PC's. But the K7N2G doesn't seem to like doing that. Most of the time it will simply not find the PS2 mouse upon boot, and if it does it will loose connection to it...

Isn't the only difference the speed of the FSB? If so, my 400FSB is running 533 now, so I can't really see how it couldnt be compatible.

Yamaha CRW-F1 USB2 troubles

I have tried everything to get this damn burner working. I use it under WinXP, and it's the USB2 version. Most burns go wrong - even if I burn at a low 8xspeed with 24-certified media. I have only tried this one brand though. Are there any known problems with USB2 and CD-writers, or the Yamaha...

Thanks Jerry, but I AM using an XP chip... I wrote that earlier in the thread, an XP 1400mhz (1600), so that cant be the issue.

Thanks for your help. The Silverado is running at 2x2500 rpm, that should do the trick. But I'll try another cooler on it. I did apply thermal grease, but I noticed it looked rather odd and full of 'cracks' on the CPU core after I had the Silverado just sitting there without mounting it...

So, based on the fact that i get 70+C from 1400mhz and only 50C from 1050mhz, you wouldn't say that the AMD CPU is faulty and I should take it back to get a new one?

MSI "Live Bios" Useful/Work?

I had to send my MSI K7T Pro 2a motherboard back for a new BIOS chip when I used this utility. Is that reason enough for you to use a bootable floppy instead?:)

... interesting, when I run it at 100mhz FSB (1050mhz) I dont get temp readings above 50. How can there be more than 25 degrees C in difference from 1050 mhz to 1400mhz?????!!

OK I tried Motherboard Monitor 5... it gives me somewhat higher readings than the BIOS after I had the crash. I also assume the temp can go down quite rapidly after a crash. The MBM indicates variable temperatures from high 50's pushing more and more into the 70's. Crashed at 71, but had been up...

Damnit I have a Silverado which is supposed to be good!!:) 53 shouldnt be a problem - dont AMD say 60 or EIGHTY? My system temp is 32 degrees, so it shouldnt be necessary to touch the chipset sink - or will that be hotter when I run 133mhz FSB compared to 100mhz too?

MSI KT7Pro2-A booting problems after gaming: Small Discovery

AFAIK Win2K/XP is known to sometimes not work well when you O.C. - not sure why. Try to see if it works better without O.C. You definitely can't blame this problem on Win2K at least...

Gorillaz, are you by any chance overclocking - tweaking FSB, vcore or multiplier? If so, try your system at default speed and see if it helps....

Ata. I have a TBird 900, multiplier at 10, FSB at 100 (can't seem to get it stable even not at 103 or so). And voltage at default. Setting it to 1.85 doesn't help me getting past 1ghz.

I used a defogger kit for car windows, applying with a very thin paintbrush. I covered the entire bridges with regular tape, and did 4 holes in in with a scalpel. Then applied the defogger stuff. Worked 1st time. And I then exchanged the Chrome Orb with a Silverado 50, which makes it run 10...

VIA IDE Bus Master drivers - Miniport or VxD?

You never get the choice of which busmaster driver when installing 4-in-1. It always installs the VXD. You have to install the busmaster only drivers to get the choice.

There's probably no difference. However you shouldn't overclock the FSB, the reason it doesn't work, I think, is 1) because the RAM can't take it, 2) Because the PCI and AGP can't take it. You should unlock your CPU and multiplier OC instead.
