"popping" noise in my mp3

Whenever I make mp3 files from music CDs or divx w/mp3 audio from DVDs, I get these annoying popping sound throughout the song. Does anyone know what might be causing it? I've already tried different bitrate and reinstalled sound card drivers and audio codec. I have AMD 1600+, Soundblaster live...

PC Club is an Microsoft "authorized education re-seller" with special pricing for students/teachers...

I'd also check places like university bookstores see if they have the same items for sale. They usually sell to students and teachers other than their own. I rarely find PC Club's price that attractive..

Ok have gap between AX-7 and fan from the rubber spacers?

Thanks for replies. I'll leave them the way they are now. I also used AS3 as to regular white paste from the stock HSF so that probably helped a little too. AX-7 is great HS with lots room to overclock later.

Hello Just upgraded from a stock AMD HSF to AX-7 and smart case fan2. I installed the fan with rubber spacers that came with the AX-7 so there is a 1/4" gap in between. Seems like a pretty big gap. Just wondering if it has any impact on cooling efficiency? Temp on my 1600+ has already...

How Do I back up my registry ?

If you just want to clean up nvidia drivers. You can also try this tool called NVCleaner that deletes all Nvidia files and registry entries from your system. You can take a look here www.guru3d.com. It's under their downloads-videocard utilities section.

Did I kill my CPUs?

Decided to upgrade my ECS K7S5A 1Ghz with a new Athlon XP 1600+ today and my system stopped working. Blank screen at power up with only the fans running. No bios screen or anything else with only video card, memory, and cpu connedt to motherboard. Weird thing is I put my old Athlon 1Ghz CPU...

thanks, think I'll go dig a little deeper into my yellow pages see if I can come up with a local repair shop. Didn't know about Dell repairing out of warranty stuff. I will go look into it see what they can do.

How do you change IRQ settings in win 98 se?

My Abit motherboard bios has a command that resets PnP configuration data next time the computer restarts. It's easiest way to reset those irq settings. Most mb probably has it. I'm not sure. If I remember correctly, Win98 lets you disable automatic settings from device properties resource tab...

DNS problem?

Have you tried to ping the server you're connected to? Check if there is any packet loss between your computer and your server. If so, probably could try switch to different port on your hub or swap network cards see if problem gets solved. good luck.
