I had a simular thing happen to my 160 it started showing up as 280 or some such... freekie... even Partition Magic showed the same wrong info... used FDisk to swack it and all came back to normal...
I guess we are taling about DVDs here ... my understnading is that the media needs to be 8x or you will burn the DVD at the platter rated speed. Thus you are not burning at 8x. I think...
I was having daily BSOD on my T6000 (AMD64/WinXP Home, Pro and XP64) did not matter what OS. The system has been ok now for 3 days. Like many here I tested everything; I then did the following: FDisked the hard drive 3 times, then ran Fdisk /mbr 5 times in a row and used the recovery CDs...
My vid card and monitor both have digital/analog out/in puts. Can they both be connected at the same time allowing me to choose the input on the monitor? I have always connected them either or and now 64bit linux seems to line the analog and winxp is ok with the digital... wondering. Thanks...
SP2 installed ok on my T6000 by eMachines. However now AOL v9 will not work, v8 still works but not v9. The install went very smooth other than that... and it does include SP1.
The card that came with my T6000 is an ATI sapphire radon 9600 atlantis. And I have discovered that ATI does not have drivers out for Win XP 64. So I wait... I may be should not use the digital connection and use the regular 15 pin... wondering... thank you for helping... Van
Not sure what you mean exactly about lock up... I get the BSOD. I reinstalled the OS then took days instead of hours to reinstall programs... I only installed the critical XP updates ... none of the others at all. And the system has been stable since. I think I have just not installed the...
Thanks to the kind folks at this forum I downloaded AIDA32 and discovered that my AMD64 is not running as hot as I had feared. It runs pretty much at 31C and the MBoard reports 42C. Why the MBo is so much hotter is a mystery to me. But I am here to say that AIDA32 is a great program.
I picked AMD because I think it is a better chip, AMD 64 3200+. And like others have said here gravy or frosting is the fact that Intel needs to be kept in check as does Microsoft, thank you Linux. Even if you never install Linux you benefit from its existance the same holds true if you only...
ViewSonic ships with both cables. Fry's carries both types of DVI cables, the more expensive ones are duplex or some such... sorry for the very not technical responce..
Cousins in Texas had nothing but issues with IBM, HP and Compaq and got two eMachines... no issues and very happy. I normally build my own but got a T6000 from BestBuy... I love it...
I have been told that the mem runs at 200 and when you double duty it, it becomes 400. I have been told this by support staff and had it varified but it seems like smoke to me...
I am sure it could be any one of several things... for me it was a driver. I reinstalled the OS and no longer install items that announce that their driver has not been approved by Chariman Bill. So far my system is running just fine. But if it barfs again, I will suspect my mouse driver...
I don't know how to help except to suggest two things. Have you tried to unhide the files on a floppy and copy it to the USB flash drive or a friend bought a totally generic USB drive that came with a utility to make it bootable. Then of course your BIOS has to let you boot from it. Good luck...
I usually build my own PCs but broke down at BBuy and got an eMachines T6000 which is an AMD64 3200+ with 512megs of ram. I added another 512 and totally love this thing much more then I would have expedted. It replaced a P4 2.4 and I can not believe how much faster the new box it since its...
I think a clean install when you change significant items like a CPU is mandatory. Just get all of your disks in order and backup what you can not afford to loose. Good luck.
