Time to upgrade?

More like trailing edge for me. Decided to try out 3DMark06 just to see what it looks like & I got a whopping 6080 score. Now I've just got to decide if I want to upgrade my entire combo, install the Asrock AM2 card w/ 4400-4600 AM2 cpu & DDR2 on my current board, or just buy a hotter video...

Time to upgrade?

I was looking at the Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe since it was listed as beying phenom compatible...but I'm seeing a lot of unhappy M2N-E owners going back the past couple yrs. Still reading up to see if Asus has got their act in gear by this time. & I just likes me some AMD, nothing wrong with that...

I don't think the deal is completely outside the realm of possibility, especially for a black friday weekend. Microcenter had the EVGA 8600GTS for $99.99 after mail-in & I saw a couple other passably similar deals advertised here & there. Nothing really wrong with the shipping either...

ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 - Socket 939 with PCI-E and real AGP and Socket AM2 upgrade path

Gonna bring this thread back up w/ a question or two. Anyone playing with the newer 939Dual-VSTA yet? Is it identical except for the Cmedia onboard sound? Anyone know of details on the sound to see if it's any real improvement over the Realtek? Thanks Miah

Audio switchbox ideas?

Hi Folks. I was wondering if someone had just a completely wonderful(& cheap!) setup to suggest that would allow me to switch between my headphones & my Creative 4.1 speaker setup w/o me having to constantly get behind my PC. Something w/ a cable so I could remote mount it near my monitor...

All Super Flower power supplies on sale

I've done ok w/ my 450W, but my wife's had to be RMA'd once & the replacement also failed. Quite a few people on the Directron help forums also had similar problems...so I have mixed feelings about them now. Miah

What's the max AMD CPU that a mobo with VT8363 can use?

Well it kind of depends on the brand of mobo. Diff brands have differing levels of bios support. Some boards even have differening levels of support depending on the board revision. Since you're talking original KT-133 chipset then you're limited to the 100mhz bus, so Duron...

Needing mid-range Vid card advice

Hey there. My ATI9800pro w/ XT bios suddenly decided it didn't want to wake from power saving mode....also decided it didn't want to show anything at boot. :( Figure I'm SOL on warranty since it has the XT bios & doubtful I can reflash back to stock if the card's completely dead...

BF1942 Weapons Quickchange?

Little hard for me to explain. When scrolling through the weapons(v1.31) you have to hit fire once you have the weapon selected from the list. Can cause problems when in the middle of a firefight & need to get to another weapon quick. I remembered that Half-Life/TFC/CS defaulted to similar...

hehe, man this is such an old dead thread. Got it taken care of already. Uncheck "use the welcome screen" & then a little tweaking has to be done to keep the username/password screen from popping up at every bootup. Miah
