Some how I think this deal was DOA before it even got started. Suddenly the drive disappeared from the website right before midnight, then can't get thru on the phone, except for the message about leaving name and number, so THEY could return your call. Never heard of such thing.

Got mine today. Looked like the UPS guy took the long route. Mine too is a OptoRite CW 4802.
Newbie question: My old CD-ROM is a 8x. Does that mean with the 8x as the reader, the fastest I could burn with the CenDyne is 8x, regardless of media?

What recourse do you (or me) have if the rebate center won't honor the rebate request? Do you then have to go back to BB and complain?
