Win2k saves JPEGS as bitmap

I have a setting that went awry, and when i save pictures from the web, they are all saving as bitmap (no other option available), not jpeg. How do i change this ?? Running Internet Explore (honestly not sure which version, but pretty recent)

Got my Radeon 9700, now what to play?

SoundBlaster Live 5.1 and MSI MOBO???????

You should have no trouble at all. I have a KT3Ultra2, and have used a SBlive value and audigy platinum in it with no issues whatsoever. I don't know what would be different with that card.

I have had none of these video issues with win2Kpro on my 9700pro. Not during video editing or DVDplayback (using powerDVD).

RADEON 9700 Pro @ 300/265 WTF?***UPDATE***

I will just add, the 9700pro card from FIC and Sapphire (at least the FIC i ordered and the Sapphire a guy at work has, both through NewEgg) are indeed 325/310.

In the card settings i have AA and AF set to "Aplication Prefference" in open GL ans D3D, and then everything set as high as it would go in the game.

I recieved my FIC 9700 pro yesterday from NewEgg... I suspect from looking at it that it is manufactured by Sapphire just like the ATI and Crucial cards. FYI, it is indeed clocked at 325/310 (checked with PowerStrip) and has the fast ram. It is a rev 1.1, not a rev 3 according to what i saw...

"overall default". 1024x768, no AA or AF. If you look at posted scores, you will see if it is overall default or not.

What other Burners are Liteons in disguise!

"Memorex/Buslink thats the 2 i know" Memorex are not all LiteOn. A friend bought a 40x. It showed a LiteOn in the manual and all, but the actual drive is an AOpen, which is not the same.

What do you think of the Lian Li PC-65B?

I have the silver version, and i have been quite satisfied by it. I am ALWAYS poking around with my hardware (i have replaced every drive, CD and HD at least twice and i'm on the second mobo in it), and after 9 months have not had a single screw hole strip out and have no visible scratches on it...

KT333 for stability - MSI or Epox

I am using an MSI kt3ultra2, and it has been tweeked extensively and mine is stable as the day is long with one 512meg and two 256 meg sticks of crucial pc2700 running win2K Pro. I do a lot of gaming, video editing and photoshop. I am also using the onboard RAID controller.

What bad thing will cause my RAID-0 Array to go bad?

I have two 80gb 8meg buffer 7200 rpm drives in a raid and my case by design has two fans blowing on the hard drives... even during disk intensive activities (editind DV camcorder footage) the drives never really even get warm to the touch.

Hard drive activity will not stop in WinME

Disable restore, as mentioned above... Windows ME might be an easy dog to kick, but something else is causing your hard drive to run, and most likely something else is causing your system to slow down and crash. WindowsME stability problems tend to rear their head when you are multitasking...

Can I cut my IDE cable?

I have several of the rounded ata133 cables with the fancy shmancy braided jackets that I have cut down. Use a remarkably sharp exacto knife (brand new blade) and you should have no problems at all. I am currently using those cables on my RAID array drives, and it's performance is just fine.

Raiding different HDDs

Ida no... I have a gap for another HD between mine and two 80mm fans blowing directly on the drives (LianLi PC-65). They have always been downright cool to the touch when i have checked them. I guess in your case i would put the floppy between them if you use it (i don't have one).

Sony E540 vs G520, worth the extra money?

I think it is worth the extra scratch. I have a G500 and was using an E500 recently and while it may be a matter adjustment, i like my monitor a lot better. The G series has the "restore" feature which will test the monitor and take it to factory calibrated color specs (after it has warmed up)...

Maxtor HD Users: Does yours hiss or whine?

I have the exact same model set up in a RAID 0 with a WD JB... extremely quiet, and i have to say i don't hear the type sound you describe, but there are two 80mm fans blowing on them, so it might mask it.
