Btw, I went ahead and got the Denon AVR-E300 receiver, factory refurbished for $180. Some people were recommending a $500 receiver -- why spend so much of the budget on the receiver?

Any experience with the Nostromo N52 Speedpad?

for PC hardware I like Maximum PC the best, out of the lot it seems like it's actually ran by enthusiasts. PC World and stuff like that are too much into camera reviews and accessories, not meat and potatoes like overclocking and video cards. PC game mags... can't think of any great ones, PC...

Hey come on guys don't bash him! He's got money to spend and wants to build the best gaming rig that money will allow. More power to him. Sure, maybe it's not the best price performance ratio, but sometimes it's nice to just pay for the BEST and not make any compromises.

I'm enjoying it a lot also. 26 paladin on Medivh server. This is the latest addiction with the string of SWG, Diablo 2, and originally Counter-Strike. Pick up WoW, you won't regret it =)

$250 To Upgrade My Computer. . .

Not really much you can do with $250, I mean a new cpu would require a new motherboard, you have enough RAM, and your video card is good enough not to upgrade unless you are getting one of the 400 dollar cards. Tough call but I'd say either save your money or get an Athlon 64 and a cheap...

SLi - voodoo vs. alienware

If it's true that Alienware uses Xeon's, then yes get the FX-55 rig. It's a whole lot more money than you need to spend, but if you are loaded then it doesn't matter.

This is all you need to know: a single x850 XT Platinum Edition beats 6800GT SLI in Half-Life 2. Get the OCZ Powerstream (or Modstream) 520W PSU. Other than that it looks good.
