What's the average oc of t-bred 1700+ and 1800+?

Check out the article Anand wrote... or was it Anand? Oh well. I hear that 1700+ gets at least 1800-1900 range, and 1800+ gets 1900-2000+ Mhz.

Best O/C Options for Athlon XP 2100+ and EPoX EP-8K5A3+

Why the heck would you want to OC that rig? You'll get fine performance in anything... almost. Anyways, if you REALLY want to overclock it... starts first with the BIOS, it might have a few options to change FSB, multiplier, etc. Make sure you have a good HSF.

Will Overclocking my P4 shorten its lifespan.

Should be fine... I remember several years back I got a 300 Mhz Celeron... and overclocked it to 450 Mhz. I got it back in '97, and it still runs fine. The life of the core depends on several factors, including operating temperature (heat kills), quality of manufacture, voltage, power supply...

Is the GF4 Ti4200 a worthwhile upgrade over a GF3 Ti200?

As suggested before, either stick tight with the GF3 or sell both and buy a Radeon 9500 Pro, it will beat the GF4 Ti4600 in many benchmarks.

What's the difference between antec truepower and smartpower...powersupplies?

Yeah, I heard TruePowers let your system work within much smaller voltage ranges. Good for stability and performance, as well as component life. I'm looking to get a 350W true power.

I think I will be buying an LCD

I have a Samsung 15" LCD... works fine, looks good. Yeah, LCDs are definitely better for your eyes, they don't flicker. But one of the comments above is WRONG, LCDs can be good for gaming. Do a little research before you buy the LCD. Find out what the response time for the LCD is, if it is...

Can't burn Audio CDs, but can burn Data CDs!?!?!?

Have you checked what media he is using? It had better be properly rated for whatever speed the drive is... I have a Lite-ON LTR, and it seems really picky about good media. If I use generic media, it fails all the time on Audio Cds, but if I use brand names, it works 100%.

Hehe. I would get a P4, problem is, you can get AMD chips for so much less... I'll wait until Hammer/Opteron comes out in March/April/whenever it comes out.

Hehe... overclocking to 4 Ghz, wonder how loud the system is, lol. I only have a GF2 MX 400, but I still get 5000+ 3d marks, seems a bit odd. I'm not arguing, however. :)

I'm not impressed with the 9700pro :( UPDATED!

Hehe, know what you mean! I can barely get anywhere from 20-60 fps on my GF2 MX 400, and that's overclocked... time to get a new card! Thinking about getting a Radeon 8500 LE 128 MB, or a Radeon 9500 Pro 128 MB when it gets cheaper.

Overclocking Video Cards: How to go about it?

I agree, you should return the whole thing to the place you bought it from. You shouldn't waste time and effort on something THAT unstable. Even if it is the PSU or the RAM, it would still be too much of a headache. Politely explain your problem and ask for a full refund. If they do not...
