    And if you really want the 3200+ go with the 3200+ Newcastle. It has 512kb cache but it is 200Mhz faster then the 3200+ with 1MB of cache. The 200Mhz will affect your performance much more than the cache because the Athlon64 architecture isn't affect by pipeline stalls like the P4.

    As was stated, it is not a waste of money to get a 64bit chip. I have 3200+ Athlon XP. My roommate got a new computer with an Athlon 64 2800+ and it is faster than my computer. It is definitly worth getting the Athlon 64.

    Need a vid card

    at that price point ATI is the way to go. Look for the best deal you can get on a 9600Pro or 9600XT. You will be happy with that card and it should be able to play games pretty well. Doom 3 will be a stretch, but definitly playable.

    wpa woes

    I had a similar problem with WEP. I had the "Use 802.11x authentication" box checked and it would drop the connection all the time. I don't know if that would affect WPA, but it might be something similar.

    I actually have an SiS648 board and it overclocks quite well. I can run colpletely stable at 2.9Ghz on my 2.53. If I upped the voltage I could go higher, but I'm not about to do that.

    Why a 60.1GB hard drive shows up as 57.2GB?

    How does that last line in the previous post make sense when the drive shows up as 57.2. A 55.9GB drive would not show up as a 57.2GB drive after formatting. So that cannot be right.

    Abit drops 9700 PRO, don't work with KR7A

    I have the new SR7-8X and it runs well, and they have released BIOS updates to fix the AGP8x problems. I just can't verify this as I'm still saving up the cash for a new Radeon and waiting for the Radeon 9700, 9500, and 9500 Pro to come out.

    Also, the GF4's are only directX 8.0 compatible, not 8.1. So there are some features(not sure which ones) that if used in a newer game, you may see a performance hit. All the ATI cards(8500, 9000, 9000 Pro) are 8.1.
