Help building a gamer

Thanks for the info! I just opened his case and it's an ECS board with a Pentium 4 - 2.4 gig processor and 1 gig of DDR ram. That ain't gonna give him what he wants. I think I check to see what Newegg will do on the stuff you listed.

Help building a gamer

The guy next door has a pentium 2.4 gig with 1 gig of duel channel ram, and a 512 meg video card (I think it's PCI AGP). Anyway, he's running FSX and is having a tough time as it's slow. Can anyone suggest an upgrade (Motherboard, processor, video card, power supply, ram) that will run this game...

Music by type

Have there been any recent surveys on music when it comes to who listens to what? Like "in the US people listen to Rock = 35%, Country = 30%, Pop = 25%, Elevator Music = 10%..." Anyone know where I can get this information?

WinXP keep restarting....

Could be bad RAM, or a faulty power supply. Did this just start happing out of the blue or did it happen as soon as you loaded Windows?

Switching Harddrives onto a new system...

Most likely you will be asked to register. A simple phone call to Microsoft telling them about you upgrade will yield a key to your Licensed version if you are not using it on another machine.

Dell B110

Just bought my InLaws a new Dell B110 for Christmas. They are 300+ miles away so I needed the support and restore features. Anyway, it came with a Celery D at 2.53GHz. Can anyone tell me what the fastest processor this motherboard can handle? I'd like to upgrade this summer to a P4 if possible...

The board has an ACPI setting which I have set to enable, but it still asks to be turned off. Polite, but not exactly the thing I want it to do. Ugh...

I can't seem to get this computer to shut down without using the power button. I can find nothing in the bios to change that will effect it. I also updated to the latest bios. The computer runs fine, and it's not hanging up, it's just making me use the power button just like an old Windows 95...

Just snapped one together and loaded XP pro using a K7N2G and wasn't sure what I should install first, XP Service Pack 2, or the Nvidia drivers? The Nvidia drivers I have came with the board over a year ago, should I download the latest from their site or MSI's?
