Thanks Pelikan. I made a n00b mistake and missed one of the 'user defined' entries...it's all opened up now and have been (slowly) inching my FSB,RAM settings,Vcore etc. slight improvement seen...so I guess I'll keep going! Thanks again!

Since buying the a7n8x BIOS 1005 dlx 2.0 I have been running it for the past couple weeks as a break in. Running great (thanks again freewolf). Now, I wanted to do some basic overclocking, however the bios won't allow me to do single Mhz FSB stepping, only 100,133,166,200 even under 'user...

I am getting the A7N8X in a short while. I have run through the boards for a while, but still have a question: Is there a definitive answer to whether I should reformat my HD/reinstall WinXP or just update the drivers after swapping out my mobo? I'd prefer (of course) the latter, but will I run...

XP2100 & Asus A7M266

I've been running an AMD 2200+ on my A7M266 for a while now...no problems, although I have read that other people have had problems. I posted what was needed as far as motherboard and BIOS a few months ago...you could do a search to find it. So far, I've been very happy with this setup.

ABIT KG-7 restart problem with XP

I have a an ABIT KG-7 motherboard running winXP, an AMD 1700+, 300W power supply, ATI Radeon 7500 video card. Ever since getting it, it will not restart from a warm boot....it will shut down, then hang....the monitor light will blink as if the computer was completely shut down. I have to hold...

Asus A7M266 and AMD 2200XP

ASUS reccommended flashing the 1008a266.02b BIOS (beta) at that time. I changed the jumpers primarily to set up for the 1.80Vcore. I believe the beta BIOS was also reccommended since the 2200+ was the first line of the T-bred AMD CPU's. Can the 2200+ run on the 1007 BIOS? I don't know...I...

A7M266 with GF4ti4200

I was running my GF4 4600 on my a7m266 with the BIOS 1007 and a 1.4 Thunderbird CPU. I had no problems. I'm actually running the beta BIOS now (1008a266.02b) since I'm running a 2200 AMD CPU. Have had no problems with the GF4 card.

Asus A7M266 + 2600+ ?

I know you can run a 2200+ with a BIOS update and setting up the jumpers on the MOBO...e-mail ASUS, they were helpful with me. I have read many threads at www.amdmb.com and most people are having a hard time running the newer T-breds on this board.

ASUS A7M266 and Athlon 2000XP problem!

I hope this thread isn't already dead.....but have you written to ASUS directly for help? I recently placed a 2200+ in my A7M266, and had to adjust the JEN jumper, with the DIP switches (all 'off' does not sound right), and switching the VID to a higher Voltage....along with the S2K slew rate...
