EPOX 4PEA+ - Anybody familiar with???

Whole System from Newegg Check out this thread on Anandtech Forum about my system that I am ordering this week. I was also tempted to get the ASUS P4PE, but it did not have an easy to deal with IDE RAID setup..you needed to get a SATA to Parallel converter to get a RAID working without any...

EPOX 4PEA+ - Anybody familiar with???

Watch Out! The Epox 4PEA+ that Evan did his review on had the SATA working. The retail motherboard that is selling does NOT have the SATA working. The Manual even states that it has it, but there was a warning on their Wesbite that says SATA is NOT Supported. It looks like the ports are...

Would anyone care to critique/comment on my 845PE System?

After a few weeks of "hopefully" running a stable system...I will try some overclocking....hence the Corsair XMS 3200 RAM to give me a little room to do it. I will probably need a few more fans and a better heatsink than the retail intel one. I want to balance power and sound level...

Would anyone care to critique/comment on my 845PE System?

After about 1 month of researching, waiting, lurking, and asking for help, I have finally designed my "Dream System". It is built around a 845PE Chipset (Abit IT7 MAX v2), will be running IDE Raid 0 setup with two WD Special Edition 8meg Buffer Drives, and sportinG an ATI 9700 on a Sony 21inch...

Is this the Mother of all 845PE Motherboard: The ABIT IT7-MAX2 V2.0

It has a reasonable IDE RAID Configuration with 2 Parallel IDE Ports, where as the P4PE only has the 1 IDE Parallel Port. You need a Serial to Parallel IDE Converter to get a RAID IDE solution. ASUS should have put 2 Parallel IDE Ports...would have made it the perfect board. Steve Charles

I was back to cruising Newegg for a new 845PE Motherboard. I had been waiting with baited breath for the Granite Bay reviews, and it appears that GB is not as stellar as we all hoped. I have been unhappy with the 845PE selections...until now. All the the 845PE board were missing something...

A Look@Iwill's P4HT (845PE)

But the intel board has 1 thing lacking too: IDE RAID option The Epox 4PEA+ looks like it may have everything, but I am worried that the specs on the website do not mention Serial ATA, which Evan's Review Board had. Steve Charles

A Look@Iwill's P4HT (845PE)

Alas, another 845PE that lacks 1 item. With this one it is: IEEE 1394 (Firewire) Why can't someone come out with a board with ALL the features that we are finding here and there on other 845PE Boards. Steve Charles
