Edited. I found information that apparently Powerleap had prototypes for the adapter, but there was likely a problem with them as they never saw market. I'd trust ASUS anyway- they're known for putting out good reliable stuff.

It doesn't benefit in a laptop situation from increased FSB because of power issues, as well. But the increased clock speed that comes with the increased FSB will be nice for it, to be sure. You can't say that it doesn't benefit at all- that'd be silly. You're bound to see SOME performance...
Check the pins on the bottom carefully, to make sure you've got none bent. It might look OK initially but if you look close it might have done something odd. Sorry to hear it. I'd definitely try another CPU or something before panicking and calling it the mobo though. Good luck!

And this adapter may feed it more voltage than it wants (built-in overvolting) so it may be quite well prepped for overclocking.
I don't think anyone could really justify using a Pentium-M anyway when a P-M costs 2x as much and gives maybe like 5% performance...
I dunno, I could see the Celeron-Ms possibly seeing a nice overclock with that HSF anyway. 1.5GHz C-M at 2GHz shouldn't be too unreasonable since it's made to support Dothan up to 2.2GHz. Nice, cheap, cool solution :)
RAM prices are only going down... if you don't absolutely need 2GB now, I don't see why you'd get it all at once, personally. Upgrading RAM is hardly something to take today's hit on out of laziness. RAM will only get better, more compatible and cheaper. I know everyone's going to jump on me...

I think it's silly to write off things as junk or excellent- discs differ on a disc by disc basis. And as far as certain discs having errors, it really is highly dependent on what drive they're written on. I've heard some people say disc X is great and so I'd try it and they'd turn out like...
79 cents per disc is well worth it? Personally, I figure I'll be not looking at the stuff on many of the discs I'm burning, or giving them away, and so $79/100 doesn't appeal :) Taiyou Yuden discs are somewhat overrated as well, IMO. I always figure that I can make 3 or 4 copies of the stuff...
