Active Desktop items permanently locked

What is the other check box? Do you mean the one for selecting webpages? The "Lock to desktop" box is unchecked. I've tried checking/applying/unchecking/applying but that's made no difference.

What are some decent Passive Cooled video cards?

Actually that is a good idea but is it easy to take off the heatsink that is already on there? If it can be done easily that's definitely what I'll do. My graphics card look like this.

Fake photo ?

Looks to me like their shadows are going in the same direction. The shadow to the left of the woman (our right) is made by something else. Photo could still be fake though.

Updating the motherboard BIOS cooled the CPU ???

Hehe, thanks! I tried out DF a few months back while sorting out some problems with F@H. (Don't like them being idle too long! :Q ) But I've been running F@H for about 6 months now and feel like a change, so I've switched over both computers to DF. They're a P3 600 and a P4 2.0 running 24/7...

Disconnect Northbridge fan?

Yep, that's the one. Arrived today, but I haven't put it on yet. Just want to say thanks to everyone for your help. I ended up disconnecting the fan after all, leaving the heatsink on, and it didn't seem to get hot at all (although I'll replace the heatsink with the Zalman one anyway). Thanks...

Stuffed up my Arctic Silver application

Actually the hard drive is pretty damn quiet. The CD drives are loud (obviously), but I can barely hear the Seagate when it is reading/writing, let alone when it's idle. I think some dust has got into the Northbridge fan and is slowing it down. It's way too loud - gonna see if I can clean it...

Stuffed up my Arctic Silver application

After reading so many reviews saying to only put a very thin layer of Arctic Silver 3 between my heatsink and CPU, I ended up putting on a layer too thin. My non-overclocked P4 2.0A was 67°C under load! I fixed it up a bit now, it's reading 56°C at the moment (overclocked to 2.26GHz). Still...
