How long do you use/keep a laptop?

I still use a Gateway P-6860fx... It's my only laptop. It runs Civ5 and SWTOR still, plus the classics like KOTOR and PS:T.

M.2 Port X2 or X4?

FWIW I have a MSI X99S SLI Plus and a XP941. It runs at x4 on my mobo.

Be careful when buying anything M.2. There are two types. PCIe and SATA. M.2 SATA caps out at the same speeds that SATA3 ports do. PCIe ones will require PCIe lanes from your CPU. AFAIK there are only two PCIe M.2 devices out there right now. The Plextor M6e series is x2 and the Samsung XP941...

For what it's worth, I had the same decision with my recent upgrade. I chose to pretty much go all out and went with an X99 based system because I figured that I can always overclock, but I can't glue more cores on to my CPU :)

Ok, verified the time/date are correct. Killed the power. Booted in to the BIOS. The time and date are both correct. Internet options wouldn't let me remove any certs. I could set IE to not check for publisher cert revocation. That lets me go to http and https sites, though I get nagged about...

It happens with both Chrome and IE. The error message in Chrome reads: Your connection is not private Attackers might be trying to steal your information from www.google.com. etc... Etc... Then at the bottom: NET: ERR_CERT_DATE_INVALID

I know. But when I correct it, even in the BIOS, every website I try to go to tells me that I have an untrusted connection. I think I've got some kind of a certificate issue, but I have no idea how to correct that, shy of reinstalling Windows again... which I'd like to avoid doing if possible.

If I'm not mistaken, those are the same pitfalls as all computers parts, so no change there! Thank you! :) Awesome, thanks! Some of the websites I was reading made it sound like I'd be running x16(GTX770#1) + x8(GTX770#2) + x4 M.2 which would leave nothing for the SATA drives or anything else.
