Can Windows XP be installed without a previous version of Windows installed?

I was wondering if this(clean install from upgrade xp cd) was possible also. I will probably go this route, saves $100.

Yeah I tried switch Master/Slave, cables, etc.--no luck. Mine works with NERO at least. Bummer.

Problems with veloCD 121032A and EZCD Creator

Anyone else having problems running EZCD Creator 4.0x burning software using the new 12x VeloCD with JustLink? I can't get it to recognize the burner as a supported CD-recorder. Also see this post. ???

Wondering if anyone has used the Antec KS188 case...

Great case, check the link in my sig for pictures. The case is very similar(identical except for the PS and front bezel) to the Aopen HX08. I recently replaced it with an SX1030.

Poll: Epson 1240 or Canon 1220?

The Epson Perfection 1240U has received some really great reviews. Some reviews mention the Photo version, it's the same but with a photo/negative adapter. Here, here and here.

Antec Easy USB (front USB ports)

AntecCSR, Thanks for keeping up with and answering out questions on Antec cases. I would be interested in a black Easy USB as well. Any chance on an SX1040B being released? This is the olny thread I found mentioning that case.

I will have to check out CompUSA... The other cool thing is that if you have a CUSL2 you can use all 7 USB ports--2 built in, 3 on the add on bracket and 2 on the Easy USB panel(there are three headers on the motherboard which can support 5 extra USB ports between them). I guess if they aren't...

Antec Easy USB (front USB ports)

Anyone else see this on Antec's site? Seems like a good idea for those with a compatable motherboard, and an extra 5 1/4" drive bay. Just thought I would throw it out there since many people have asked about cases with front usb ports. One more reason to buy Antec. ;)

Is it normal for Win98SE boot up to take a while longer when the boot drive is on a Promise Ultra100?

I have an ASUS CUSL2 with an IBM 30gb 75GXP on a Promise 100, it takes longer than when it was on the onboard controller. It's not too bad though, it's just detecting the drives connected to the controller.

C2 800mhz, Anyone Overclocked this?

Why get a C2 800 when for the same price or less (Pricewatch) you can get a PIII 700 and overclock it. The PIII is a better investment anyway--IMHO. Check at overclockers.com CPU database for overclocking success. No listing for C2 800 yet.

Adaptec Easy CD creator or Direct CD or NERO ?

Nero for regular stuff and CloneCD to make backup copies(here's a link to a CloneCD guide). BTW-jimmyhaha, did you get the 9350i for 99.99 at OM or pricematch somewhere? That was a great deal-I bought 2-one for my sister, one for my brother!

Crucial drops $15! $90.94 for 256MB CAS2

Bought 2x256/CL2...for $181.88. What to do with my 2x128/CL2 (I just bought it 2 months ago for $86.69 a piece[$173.38 total]), can't use it all in my CUSL2...... This is crazy, I just bought 2x the amount of RAM and it only cost $8 dollars more, damn! Oh well.

AtaStrumf, That's how I normally do it, but I was extremely tired last night when I did the burn, so I screwed it up. Hopefully I can recover the data.
