It was on sale with a substantial saving... ;) Also, with a better heatsink I would be able to use a quieter fan (or none!) to still get good temperatures. -Peter

BF2 installation troubles...

Hey all, A few months ago BF2 was giving me some troubles so I simply reinstalled it to see if it would fix it up. However, when I went to reinstall it I started getting these "MD5 Errors"; this is where things went downhill :( I thought it was my harddrive acting up perhaps since it was...

Seagate RMAs. How long do they usually take?

Does Seagate require anything for RMA?

I just sent one in last Thursday and they have already shipped a drive back. Nothing required, just a valid RMA number. I'll let you know for sure once I get the drive ;)

Is this the best way to get power to all components?

Personally I like having my video card and harddrive(s) on their own lines to reduce the risk of a power failure. What power supply do you have? I imagine it'd have enough connectors to handle all those items.

BF2 n00b questions

Since it seems quiet this morning, I guess I'll try to answer you questions ;) 1. You're right about the DVD/CD versions. The CD version is 3 discs instead of 1. I'm not sure about a no-disc patch, I haven't seen one. However, there is a game patch (v1.02) to install after you're done which...

Shuttle 43G onboard sound problem

Either onboard sound isn't enabled in the BIOS, or you didn't install the audio drivers from the Shuttle disc; at least that's what it sounds like to me.

Vibe Genitech Anitec Dangeo Off the top of my head. There are others like ExtremePC and Bigfoot but they are overpriced. NCIX is also quite good, but you already have that.

That seems fine to me. I sent a 5lb package to the States from here (Canada for you slow people :P) and it it took about 5 business days or so and it got there just fine. Don't worry aboot* it. * ;) :P

Only things I'd change are personal preferences of mine. I'd get an Enermax PSU. Looking around they have strong rails and are very quiet. The Noisetaker 470W is a few bucks cheaper and I would think that it would be enough for an SLI setup. OCZ and Antec are very good too. I'd rather...
