Most depressing song ever?

There are two songs i hear and I'm frozen in time: Alice In chains-Don't follow Korn-Alone I break. (If you know Jonathan Davis's story, then most of Korn's songs are depressing).

explorer error at krnl386.exe

Sometimes it goes to the bsod, and sometimes it just drops the video signal. Once I hit reset, it goes back to functioning properly for a while. As for recovery, I do believe Me has it available by booting from cd. Though this prolly has nothing to do with it, I'm going to swap out her junk...

explorer error at krnl386.exe

Headache and a half....

Followed what u said, but problems still persist. At this point I would just like to format the HDD and completely wipe the registry and start fresh. What in your opinion is the best way to go about this? I have never cleared a registry before and need specific instructions. Thanks.

Best $50ish vid card

Thanks for the advice. I ended up ordering the apollo 64mb gf4 mx440 for $42 from newegg. Gonna replace his k6-2 with an xp1700, Msi kt7 turbo2 kti33a, and the gf4. I think that'll get him by for a bit.

Best $50ish vid card

Upgrading a friends ol' K6 pc, and he will be using it for low end gaming(diablo2, Age of empires, etc...) and e-mail. I've found the GF2 MX vid card and Ati 7000 for very low prices. Which of these cards would you recommend? If not either, then what card for roughly $50 or less? Thanks in advance.

Is An Alpha PAL8045 Enough For An Overclocked 2500+?

is there any "best build week" for Tbred-B cpu's?

Going solely by what I've read, I'd choose in this order: 1)PCNUT 0248 brownie, 2)excaliber 0249 3)newegg oem(good chance of 0302) 4)excaliber 0250 and so on. I've seen nothing referring to the successes with the 0304, so I'm not sure here. Good luck with whatever you choose. Peoples feel free...

Eventually, yes. I'm running an Alpha pal8045 at the moment which cools like a champ. So far this thing has been more than adequate.

T-bred 2100+ on Dragon Plus?

Jman. For your board to run the 2100+, you will need this bios upgrade........ That link also gives you complete instructions on how to flash your bios...(if you don't already know how). Good luck.

Thanks everyone for the responses. I'm in my pc alot, but the HDD isn't something I adjust very often. The cables from svc will certainly do, so I'll order up some tonight. Again, thanks for your input.

Just Picked up a 2100 Xp Tbred B

I'm very curious to see your results, as I just ordered one myself. It'll be here monday. With the better o/c's at around 2400 and the lower around 2100, it's still 300mhz more than my 2000+ pally. Good luck with yours dude.

Small computer problem

All I can suggest trying are these: Leave the red switch on 115, Clear cmos, and try again, and make sure the cpu fan is plugged into the indicated motherboard adapter. Go through and double-check that all cards and ram are still seated properly. My guess is that the vid card may have popped...

worthwhile downgrade?

I want to replace my XP2000+ palomino with a t-bred. The reason is because I want to try 166 and 200 fsb while staying in the 1.8-2.0ghz speed range. Would trading to an 1800+ t-bred allow me run this, or would I take a performance hit? I don't have the extra loot to buy a 2200+, or I would...

Updated my post. I meant synchronous. At 333 and 400, I had the mem settings as fast as possible, with no problems.

If you read anandtech's review of the Soyo KT-400 board, they demonstrate that the KT400 chipset is actually faster with DDR333. On this board moreso than the others, the performance hit from 333 to 400 was staggering. So I tried my DDR400 at both speeds, and found these results to be accurate...

Champ is right. You need to change the "Cpu frequency mode" to manual. Then you can change the divider.

Still no luck. I've tried everything i can think of. Agp fast write on/off, agp8x, agp4x, 2 drivers, 2 dx versions, unistall/reinstall, agp aperture 128/64. Is it possible that there are nvidia reg. entries left or some bits associating themselves with directx and capture? Thanks in advance.
