PSU blown up right in front of me... help

There are no user-replaceable fuses in your Antec power supply (PSU). We don't put fuses in our power supplies because the designs are more advanced than that. Anything that goes wrong that a user could fix with a fuse can be handled by the power supply without any tinkering. Antec builds in a...

    Advice on new build...

Your EA-500 PSU that comes included with the Sonata III case will handle that system easily. You'll notice it's also lightweight. It use to be that you should buy a PSU by the pound. Now, modern components and efficient designs mean that the heat sinks don't have to be as big and the fan can be...

    Advice on new AGP card

You can do an inventory of the equipment you are using on a Watt calculator like the one at http://www.extreme.outervision.com/powercalc.jsp and get an estimate of your power consumption. Then you can do another calculation where you select the equipment you plan to use and find out how much...

New PSU for Q6600 and GTX

I'm not allowed to give out advice on things that void the warranty. Sorry. I can assure you, however, that as long as the voltage is stable (and the TruePower's are the tightest supply we make) that your current needs are being met. If a PSU can't provide the Amps you need, the Voltages...

New PSU for Q6600 and GTX

When we made the EarthWatts and TruePower Quattro lines, all of them were designed to pass the tough 80PLUS certification. You can check http://www.80plus.org/manu/psu/manu_psu.htm to see what PSUs are 80PLUS certified. That'll save you money over time, and it's also an indicator of quality...

do i just have bad luck?

For the tons of PSU that we sell, our failure rate is low. Still that means that failures can happen. From what you have in your post, I'm guessing your machine pulls 300+/? Watts. That PSU should handle it for years. If you have something like a water cooler, I could be wrong. You can do...

    Antec P180 & P180B $79.99 AR @ Frys.com

To answer the version 1.1 vs 1.0 debate: All P180Bs are version 1.1, so you don't have to worry there. For the silver model, the v1.1 comes without the air duct inside, and says v1.1 on the barcode. If you have physical access to the box itself you can verify this. If ordering online it...

    NEW ANTEC CASE

To install/remove the HDs you'll have to remove both side panels, remove 8 thumbscrews that secure the HD cage to the case. Slide the cage forward (you'd want to detach any cables) and you have access to the drives.

ARGH! Didnt know the P180 had no power supply!

    Antec Sonata;power supply Q's

Sonata never shipped with NeoHE. You're thinking of the P150, which mostly had issues with Asus boards (two families) for sure. AFAIK we've never been able to confirm continued issues with any other manufacturers. That problem has long since been fixed.

    noisy antec power supply

Sounds like you should RMA it. http://www.antec.com/us/supportRMA.html Most likely they'll replace it with a TP2-380, which is ATX12V v2.0 which could be an issue with older boards. I suggest letting them know (if you know) whether or not your motherboard is ATX1.3 or ATX12v 2.0 or later...

    I've had it with Antec

Actually I wasn't sent to any forum. I suggested to my boss at the time that it might be a good idea to get out to forums and see what people were saying and/or answer common questions. Why? Because this was back in 1999 and we had no forum on our site. Somethings that may or may not be...

What the heck... just bought an Antec P180B and cant figure out anything...

It should have come with a manual, but part of the reason we put the PDF's on our site is in case the factory messes up and didn't include a manual on any given run. P180B does not have the duct. We listened to people who said it didn't work and/or made more noise so we got rid of it. We...

Having Temperature problem with Antec TPII 480

How is SmartGuardian getting the temp? Does it have a temp probe that you put in the PSU? If so where in the PSU did you put it? Also if the PSU was really at 70C the TPII's fan would have been going faster then 980. BTW if you don't have a sensor in the TPII, there's no way for anything...

    Antec P150

So here's the new final answer. It took Asus awhile to get back to us about the changes they've made and what they could think of to help with the last remaining stability issues. We would have been much happier if Asus had seen fit to make sure all their techs in their various locations knew...

How come computer cases don't use standard USB/Firewire connectors?

Way back there wasn't really a standard. The closest thing to a standard is Intel's pinout, but not every motherboard manufacturer uses that. Most of our cases now come with that connector standard (Intel), however there are plenty floating around that have the older pin by pin USB connector.

    Antec Super LANboy with AMD!!!

The ports use Intel standard connectors, they are not specifically for Intel motherboards. To be safe compare your mobo pin outs to the panel pin outs and match them up. This assumes your mobo supports the ports involved.

    P180 Advanced Super Mid Tower

SPCR being focused on Silence, is why they recommend a lot of fiddling. Part of the purpose of the case was to give users maximum flexibility in how they set up their system (ie that whole Power of You thing). Try it stock, if a fan is bugging change the setting, close the panel and go from...

    P180 PSU woes - 1 fan (bottom)? - 2 fan? - brand?

Single fan PSU's with the fan on the bottom will get plenty of air. There's space beneath the PSU for the PSU to get air from. Also since the PSU is only cooling itself and possibly some hard drives it won't be needing a whole lot of airflow anyway. I suggest checking out SPCR's forums.

    Hot P180

You shouldn't have the TriCool's (included fans) connected to the Neo's Fan Only connectors, unless you have the fans on High. Course that kind of doesn't make a lot of sense. I'd suggest putting them on a normal Molex, at medium and see how things go and adjust to what you'd prefer.
