Well, from a very through examination of the ordering page, I'm pretty sure there are two different production lines. If you order more ram (i think) then you are allowed to chose a bigger hard drive and perhaps other options. I assume they do this so that the "cheap" line can run faster, as...

Yup, LCDs only have one native resolution, and they all look like crap if you try and run them in a lower resolution. You need to adjust the font size so that it's "right" for you...
