Memtest86+ issues

I let it run for about 4 hrs today and no errors reported. I plan on letting memtest 86+ run over night again to see what it comes up with. I have 2 sticks of 2 gigs ddr2 1066 and read if I set Memtest 86+ to Show DMI it will identify which stick has errors.

Nope..not overclocking. It is basically a vanilla system havent souped it up or changed bios settings. I am wondering if the cpu needs more voltage. It is set to 1.36v...I am reading the manual and looking at AMD's site to see suggested voltage for amd athlonII Rana 435 haven't figured it out...

Yes I dusted it 2 days ago...Forgot to mention it doesn't seem to be getting hot..Touched the HD's, video card, cpu fan, ram, etc after shutdown..didn't seem hot. Started it back up and in bios cpu temp seemed OK..cpu usually runs high 30's f and it was 40 f...Thanks

Windows 7 problems with Sleep and Hibernate mode

I installed Win 7 32bit (Full not upgrade) on my primary system and activated it. Decided that I really wanted Win7 64bit on primary system so bought, installed and activated it. I want to put the Win 7 32bit on my laptop which now has Vista 32bit. Will it activate?

Thanks all for the responses. NewEgg has a special on 4 gigs of oz 1066 memory for $40 which I think I will buy. This way if I upgrade the cpu to am2+ in the future all is well.

What memory works with athlon x2 5050e

I have an asrock A780gxe128M motherboard paired with the AMD athlon x2 5050e CPU. Can I use ddr2 1066 (PC2 8500) memory. If not will the 1066 ram be backwards compatible at ddr2 800 (PC2 6400)? Thanks.

Any other thoughts on this. I am really hesitant to put the cpu in a good motherboard and chance harming the board. Local computer shops want 50 bucks or more to check it out (Can buy a new one for that price). Did a google search on what a shorted cpu looks like or problems it can cause and...

Notinman...By storage driver are you referring to the physical hard drive and cd/dvd drives? I am using the same drives that I had before the upgrade hence the same drivers? Are the storage controllers based on the board manufacturer? So maybe the new Asrock board has the same storage...

Well its been up for a full day now with no problems at all. All my programs work. I even burned a CD with nero. I almost always reinstall but this is amazing I think that since I upgraded using the same Motherboard manufacturer which has the same bios I may be OK

The 4830e is oem and past the 30 days. But I now wonder about my new 5050e which is retail. I put it in the motherboard that was rma'd. If that motherboard was killed by a shorted CPU (4850e) could it have shorted the new 5050e when I tried it. When I did that I had no clue the motherboard...

Wow...Thanks Zap..That may be what happened to me. Wonder if there is any way to test the cpu other than putting it in a motherboard? Local computer shops want 30bucks just to test a cpu...any other thoughts
