didnt say anything about comparing the 767 vs B-25 thing, just was pointing out that another tall building had been hit and didnt collapse. I was talking about the 707 and the 767... and while on that topic, the size diff between the 707 and the 767 is 14 feet... not a big diff at all. those 767...

the towers were built to withstand multiple jet liner ( with full fuel tanks ) impacts... with the fire from burning jet fuel included in that calculation. the towers could withstand hurricane force winds... much greater than an impact from one plane. and buildings have burned for many hours...

and size diff doesnt matter? a 767 is one size and has one set of dimentions... a tanker has one size and one set of dimensions... I dont see the problem. a plane can be painted any color and with any emblem. no?

Thanks for that link... in the beginning of the video, its eerie how in the background you can hear "This old man", obviously from a children's cd playing. Perfect sound track to a perfect crime. The other amazing thing is how the woman video taping this insane act says that the second plane...

Temp Question

what are his ambient temps? if hes in a room thats 70-75°f, those are ok temps. is his sytem overclocked? also, he might try reaplying his thermal goo... to much is bad... to little is bad. airflow through the case is important... whats he got for fans?

Water cooling? Should I bother?

my load temps dropped 25° from when i was using my awesome slk900u and a panaflo 92mm fan ( even with a vantec tornado strapped on, it couldnt cool half as good as water ). i had 5 more 80mm fans in the case and a 40mm on the NB... no comparison! why do you think they use a watercooling systems...

IHS removal and H20: load temps 1 - 2° above idle

i think i hit the sweet spot. my idle temps @ 61.5° f ambient are 31-32°c. my load temps are 33-34°c ( mostly 33°c :D )! the thermal stuff i used is Shin-Etsu, i was using ceramique ( too sticky, pulled my cpu out of the ZIF every time ). no matter what i run or do to the machine, it wont go...

you should keep the IHS off! much better cooling... do you trust intel to apply the thermal paste correctly? to even use good thermal paste? to care whether your cpu is as cool as you want it? h3ll no! yours came off with no apparent damage... i'll be sweatin in a couple days when im trying to...

98se is good for a testing environment ( OCs and the like )... a bunch of hardcore hardware pounding geeks still use it. other than that, use xp already :P

no problem, this benefits me too :D since my rig is in my very dark, cool, unfinished basement, the temps stay pretty much rock solid all the time. but, my case has been open for weeks, its a little cooler for my vid card ( gaming habit ) until i build a watercooling system for this beast. so...

as3 looses the temp battle... *simple test*

accaully, its cleaner than as3, just harder to apply, as its pretty dry and cakey ( both shin-etsu products ). but as WarCon said... its also more forgiving with thickness of your application than as3 is, by far. will be interseting to see, tho, how long this dry stuff lasts under that hsf...
