I still haven't figured it out. I totally removed Canary, deleting all history in the process. Fresh install, still the same problem. I have no add-ons that would remotely have anything to do with scrolling.... I use very few add-ons at all, and nothing recently installed that hasn't been there...

Weird NAS/network issue

Mix of Wifi and wired. Interesting.... I rebooted my router several times during the troubleshooting process, but this morning I did it once more and now everything works fine. Not sure that's a satisfying answer but whatever, I'll take it. Thanks for the help everyone.

DHCP. I just noticed something else amiss as well, possibly related. Other computers on my network can see this Elitebook and play shared music from it, or open shared pics, etc. Works just as well from looking at Homegroup or Network. But when I use the Elitebook I can't see other computers...

Weird NAS/network issue

I think it may have been just that - Ethernet connection on the .11 and wifi at the .15 spot. This is a laptop that lives in a dock 99.9% of the time but every once in a while a reboot causes it to connect via wifi when I normally use it by Ethernet. Either way, I can't get through to the NAS...

Yes, that's what I'm essentially doing with the dock. It goes from the router to the dock, and the laptop sits in the dock which provides connectivity.

I was able to snag a like new Dell M4600 with an i7 2760QM, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD, 1080p display, etc, for around $650. It has a nice keyboard and an optical drive - kinda bulky, but I think it should work out. Thanks again to everyone who suggested something.

Thanks RossMAN - I do appreciate the help. I just happened to use a Z50 the other day and it was.... disappointing. The TN panel has terrible viewing angles, and the keyboard is possibly the worst I've ever used. The search continues. Maybe I'm asking for too much?

Trust me, I totally agree. My personal machines are MacBook Air and an HP Ultrabook 14". I never miss the keypad or the disc drive, and battery life is excellent. This is for someone else though, who needs to do frequent data entry. They go somewhere, set up, do the entry, then break everything...

Help with DHCP reserved IP acting up

I am up to date on firmware - just updated yesterday and it didn't help. I seem to have fixed the music server by powering it off, resetting the N66U, then powering the music server back on - but that trick isn't working for the NAS.... will keep messing with it. Thanks for the suggestions so far.

Sonic.net for DSL. Modem is an older Zoom 5615 which has been very stable. It's never done this before, and now exclusively does so with the desktop only. Desktop is the only Ethernet connection, everything else is wireless.
