Under $80 Video Card

I disagree, the 8500LE is a better card than the GF3Ti200, aslong as it is a good 8500LE. AGP 8X isn't going to do you squat, the memory bandwidth on the vid card is way higher than the system memory bandwidth which is supported by AGP8X. And with 64 or 128Mb, you won't touch the system...

Saw the retail (built by ATi) 8500LE at CompUSA for $70, advertised in this week's flyer. I hate CompUSA, but this is a good deal! EDIT: the 64 MB version, BTW

If its a gaming machine, then drop the CPU from a 2.53 to a 2.26 Gig@533MHz and use the extra $50-$60 to get a GF4Ti4400 or better yet, an ATi9500, you're gonna need more video card than CPU anyway;) Of those cards the 8500 is the best performer, really. Your video card is the most important...

Yes the retail versions exist. If you look through the list you can find them on pricewatch ($125-$150). I just upgraded to an 8500LE from my lowly GeForce256DDR (got a lotta mileage outta that baby!). Considering the 8500LE is right around $70, if you are severely budgeted like me the retail...
