ASUS P4B266-C motherboard - Any thoughts?

My P4B266-C is running my 1.6A @ 2.4 (150FSB, 1.65v, PAL8492). I'll have to see how far my CPU can go when I bump it up to 1.7v.

is there a way to "add" drives to a raid 5 array?

TT smart fan 2 question

I have a YS-Tech Variable Speed Fan (from SVC) as the exhaust fan on my Shuttle SS51G. Nice fan. I was thinking of replacing my Sunon 50CFM 40dBA fan (on my 8045/XP2000 in another system) with a TT SmartCaseFan II. But, if it's really as bad as y'all say, I think I'll replace it with another...

My PC reboot's Unexpectedly for no reason, this has happened a few times now.

A lot of people have problems with the SB Live series cards causing their systems to reboot. Try removing the SB Live, uninstalling the SB drivers. Then enable the onboard sound, install the drivers, and see if your system still reboots.

Power supply scenario???

I know Antec now has a power supply that is compatible with the Thunder K7 boards. Here it is. That may be an option if need to replace the K7's motherboard power supply again.

AX-7, Alpha 8045, or SK-7?

Can I get away with one of those 18 cfm NMB 80 mm fans in my PSU?

ABIT KR7A-133 users

There is some type of memory restriction with the KT266A chipset. In the KR7A-133/KR7A-133R manual in section 2-3 it says you can't use x4 memory chips with this motherboard. So if you have a DIMM with say 64x4 bit memory chips, or 72x4 bit memory chips, you can't use them with this board...

Shuttle SB51G Cooling Question

I use the YS-Tech Variable Speed Fan from SVC with my SS51G. If you're going to use a similar fan with a manual speed adjustment, I recommend that you turn off the "Fan Guardian" temp based fan speed controller in the BIOS.

Directron has a pretty good selection of cases. They have a whole section on black cases. As for fans, it depends on how quiet you want it, and what size you need for your case. SVC has a good selection of fans at good prices.

Check out this P4 Heatsink Roundup from SilentPCReview.com. I believe they recommend the Zalman 6500B-CU with Panaflo 80mm L1A as the only quiet heatsink/fan in their roundup that can handle a 3.06G.

Can I Use 533MHz Bus CPU (2.8B, 2.66B, etc) on P4B266?

I heard some people say that the P4B266 tops out at 150FSB. Coincidentally, that's what FSB I'm using on my P4B266-C. I have a 1.6A @ 2.4GHz and 1.55volts. I've also seen others post P4B266 systems running at higher than 150FSB. Somewhere around 150 is probably the highest FSB you'll get out...
