What do you think of this information from Overclockers.com?
"Epox 8RDA Two days ago, I got copies of emails from Epox technical support saying that this board does not have a PCI lock and that the maximum divisor is /5.
I've now seen emails purported from Epox technical support saying that...
I'm still here. I'm rarely around. Mods haven't given me a time out - why should they? mechBgon - explain, or 'b'gon for good!
I'm all for good news - and I think if the Epox news is true, then by all means - congrats to whomever is buying or will buy their products. Seems like an excellent...
Not really...it is a known fact that the KT333 and KT400 both support the 1/5th divider - nothing lower.
Why didn't they just make it so that the PCI was locked like any sane company (look at Asus) would do - BECAUSE nForce2 doesn't rely on the FRICKEN clock divider ?
That lousy Epox cheap assed crap probably supports 333mhz Barton only...I highly doubt that it will be able to handle a 200mhz Barton should AMD goes that route.
Shut up, dude...save your breath. I already appologized in my earlier post. Talk all you want - frankly I couldn't careless about your senile way of thinking. How old are YOU? 75?
Sure thing.
Straight from Anandtech's nForce2 review.
Some BS by Abit.
"The NF7-S BIOS version we received contained an AGP lock set at 66MHz, but we were unable to find any PCI lock set at 33MHz in this BIOS. We asked ABIT why the AGP lock was included in the NF7-S BIOS but not the PCI...
Yet another person who doesn't know what he/she is talking about.
200mhz Barton official news was RELEASED by Anandtech...you are gonna call Mr. Shimpi a liar now?
That source is wrong. Not all Nforce2 motherboards support PCI locking.
I know FOR SURE that the Asus does. And perhaps the EPOX...but no other company has the balls or the brains to utilize the nForce2 to its full potential.
My original post was not a flame bait - This is to the genius with the big mouth on this thread.
I posted my concerns / opinions and I was shot down.
My main concern is the fact that most manufacturers are living in the friggin past on the AMD side...maybe thats why AMD is losing all the...
The only reason why one would want to buy an nForce2 would be for the free overclocking without stressing the rest of the components on the system. You don't know what the hell you are talking about. Its not the end of the world, but learning about the fact that most of the manufacturers have...
Hey Evan...if you can, would you be able to get a hold of this gadget which this gentleman used to prove that the Asus A7N8x does indeed lock the PCI bus?
Clickty click
Hey, Ace...did I say anything bad about the nForce2 chipset? NO! Read again, fool.
Secondly, I'm dissapointed at the overclocking features of 99% of the nForce2 motherboard manufacturers - APART FROM ASUS AS THEY ARE THE ONLY ONES WHO HAVE IMPLEMENTED THE PCI LOCK FOR THE MOST TROUBLE FREE/ NO...
Don't tell me about Bios updates...and use your brain...KT333 chipset is capable of 1/5th divider ...that equals to 166mhz with everthing on the AGP and PCI running at default specs...same with KT400...it has a 1/5th divider...hence no official DDR 400 support...I'm sure KT400a will have a 1/6th...
Unless you can prove otherwise, yes, you are still a moron...
Here's a proof that Asus motherboard has PCI locking capablities.
http://www.nforcershq.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1800,
Here's my proof...now take your dumb sorry ass and bother someone else.
Great round up by Evan Lieb by the way.
Secondly, I was disappointed to learn that most companies haven't incorported the PCI lock on their boards - apart
from Asus...what are these companies thinking? Why are they jerking off? How long has it been since the AGP/PCI lock capabilities on the...
Well if you weren't such an utter moron and actually read - straight from the review.
"For this question we headed over to ASUS and asked them what was going on. ASUS's response was simply that they have a PCI bus lock set at 33MHz and that you have nothing to worry about as far as running your...
Is it just me, or do all the boards suck ass except for the Asus one...as it locks the PCI bus. I'm sure Abit one doesn't or it wouldn't be unstable at high fsb...Who knows about the Epox...I'm sure it doesn't either.
How are people planning to run 200mhz Bartons without PCI locks?
I still...
P4 more expensive then AMD? Have you been out of your hole lately?
Check out the prices of 2400+ and P4 2.4"B"...like wise with 2600+ and P4 2.6...
AMD is turning into Intel...but Intel has some quality products coming out soon...cooler, smoother, cleaner...I would take an Intel over AMD in...
Where the hell are the reviews? Aren't they overdue? No estimated time given either?
If you are gonna post that you will be doing something...DO IT...otherwise have some balls to mention that there will be a delay.
Obviously its a lie...i'm sure they want to make as much money as they can on the 3.06....then they will incorporate HT functionality in the lower clocked P4s...
I mean...why do they still call it a 533bus CPU, when the chipset itself is designed for DDR (I845G for example)...
And isn't Intel jumping off the Rambus bandwagon anyway? Why are they calling their upcoming processors '800mhz screamers'? Unless you have a I850 chipset with RDram, isn't the...
Not really...with proper cooling, you can crank a 2400+ up 700-800 mhz...
http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=4687
And its beats the snot out of P4 running at 1 gig higher then it...
You are living in the past, man... Nforce2 doesn't need a clock divider...it can lock the AGP/PCI buses...you can bet your sorry noobie ass that Barton will be supported by Nforce2...
I'm not sure KT400/333 will support it since these shady chipets aren't capable of 1/6th divider...Hence Via...
