To WDM Or To Not WDM

In their fine installation manual(!), PNY states that GeForce cards with VIVO need (must) have WDM drivers installed. This may sound totally ignorant, but I am not sure whether to install them on a PNY 7600 GS 512 MB card as it only has Video Out capabilities, but apparently does NOT have Video...

I used 2 HDD's with XP on one and Vista on the other. On bootup you get a screen allowing you to select "Microsoft Windows"(Vista) or "Earlier Version Of Microsoft Windows"(XP). You have to restart to get the dual boot menu to change from one to the other, but haven't had any problems. I still...

Don't know for sure if this is correct, but when I reinstalled Vista a second time (tried using some REALLY wrong drivers), after booting from the DVD, I used advanced options to delete the partion. Seems as if you could do this and then exit the install. Comments invited 'cause I may be wrong.

RE: nVidia nForce Beta Driver for Vista Does anyone know if this driver will work work with nForce 2 chipset. nVidia states it only supports this driver for their newer chipsets. I'm having problems w/ the multimedia devices (sound, game port, etc.)

Thanks, Stumps. ZoneAlarm was the problem. Had to go to Privacy section and reset defaults. Meant to get back sooner but wasn't able to login to forum for awhile. And thanks to everyboby for their efforts to help.

Have tried your suggestions and once again, no luck. Appreciate you efforts to help. Forgot to mention seems to occur only in articles posted on anandtech.com, all others seem to function OK. Also, have tried shutting off pop blocker and then added At as a secure site.

Yes, it's the anandtech.com site. Graphs come thru OK, have tried Advanced tab in in Internet Options, tried resetting to defaults in Multimedia area. Thanks for the advice, but no luck.

Plz help an old F**t. I haven't been able to acces any pics on the main Anandtech site for weeks now. Have tried advanced tab in IE 6 and also checked for spyware and viruses. No luck.

XP Home & VIA Chipsets

What is the best way to remove thermal compound?

For the silver grease, I use a dab of Dawn dish detergent, rinse and THOROUGHLY dry the processor. Gets off most of the fine stuff. (It' grease, ain't it/)
