I seriously doubt that running 2 36LP on 1 channel each (ATTO UL3D) will improve speed much over running both disks at 1 channel. Even 2 x 36LP in RAID 0 cant exced 1 U160 channel speed (160Mb/s?, dont think so).
I have no plans at all to use the ATTO card, partly due to the lack of WinXP...
This guy is running 2 x Cheetah's 36LP 15Krpmin RAID 0 on ATTO UL3D SCSI card using the following hardware:
ATTO ULD3D dual channel U160 SCSI RAID
2 x 36G Seagate Cheetah X15 36LPs RAID0
Win2KSP2
Asus P4T-E >>>>>>>>>32-bit PCI bus and i850 chipset<<<<<<<<<<
Week 46 2.0A Northie @ 2668MHz...
2 x Seagate Cheetah X15 36LP 18.4GB U160 15Krpm
AMI MegaRaid Express 500 - Single channel U160 SCSI RAID card
Will be running RAID 0 on ASUS P4B266 mobo with 32-bits PCI bus running @ 37.5Mhz = 150Mb/s. Please ignore the security problem with RAID 0 because i really dont care :). I dont think...
Ok ok ok.... :) Maybe 454Casull is right....
I have no problem spending alot of money on a good HD solution to my system i have now. ASUS P4B266 with a 1.6 Woody. I want 2 disks in a RAID 0 array. As i see it i have to choose a good, fast reliable SCSI RAID card and then i need 2 SCSI hard...
Thanks for all the answers guys. I know i can get 4 drives but they wont fit in my case and i dont want to change my case. Right now i am thinking of getting: MYLEX ACCELERAID 170 LOW PROFILE 16MB 1 CHANNEL or: MYLEX ACCELERAID 170 32MB 1 CHANNEL. Witch one do you think i should pair up with 2...
Because i'm addicted to speed :). Is the risk bigger for a failure on a SCSI RAID 0 array then on an IDE RAID 0 array? I backup importent files to another harddisk and have a Ghost floppy configured for autodumping so i have an easy way of backing up my stuff (even my girlfriend can dump the...
I have serious plans to buy a SCSI RAID setup very soon. I'm leaning towards 2 x SEAGATE CHEETAH X15 36LP 18.4GB ULTRA160 WIDE 68-P and a ADAPTEC SCSI RAID 2100S ULTRA160 32MB 1-CHANNEL.
1. I will run my system on a non 64bit PCI platform (I'm using ASUS P4B266)
2. I will use Windows XP PRO
3...
I have been devoted to AMD for 1.5 years. Yesterday i bougth P4 1.6A Woody, Asus P4B266 and keept my PC2100 DDR Crucial. Without having any expirience at all with Intel platforms of today i ended up @ 2400Mhz with the retail heatsink. Eventough AMD might be faster when comparing same speeds and...
I have had both. I think BE6-2 is the better board. Better temp monitoring and more FSB selections and if you buy a BE6-2 1.2 board you can flash the highpoint chip and you suddenly have ATA100 RAID support.
P3B-F is an exellent board. What do you need?. Performence?, stability? BX chipset boards have the highest performence but the cost is high AGP bus speed if you plan on overclocking. With a VIA or 815 board you'll have the 1/2 AGP divider witch make o/c much easier but you'll loose some...
Just replaced my BX Master with a BE6-2 due to compability problems with a Promise Fasttrack ATA100 RAID PCI controller.
1. I'm running 2 x IBM ATA100 disks on a Promise ATA100 RAID PCI card in RAID 0. Everything works great but i'm not using the Highpoint onboard chip. Is there a way to...
It depends on your chip, memory and other hardware. If 1 Slot 1 550E makes it to 852Mhz, not all do. You'll need memory that can handle the FSB speed you plan to overclock to (Say you reach 5.5 x 155Mhz = 852Mhz, your pc133mhz mem must handle 155mhz memory speed). If you're not using a PCI...
Thanks for the input. You might be right about that my chip have reached it's limit. The RAM can handle 155Mhz FSB and i've tried voltages from 1.65-2.05 (I know it's high but Vapochill is @ -15C :)). I'll try to disable the L2 just for testing.
Just bought this board and it seems to work very nice. Much faster then my "old" P3V4X. Since i'm an unexperienced user of this mobo i sure would like to here some tips & trix about this board to improve performence and stability. I'm using P3 800E FC-PGA cBO coppermine chip. I...
My chip reached 980Mhz (cBO week 16 Malay)before the peltier condensed all over the chip and ruined it :). Got a bigger chip now,
way better and safer cooling.
550E @ 852Mhz cA2 1.75 volt
600E @ 888Mhz cA2 1.75 volt
650E @ 1007Mhz cA2 1.70 volt - Vapochill cooling
800E @ 1070Mhz cBo 1.80 volt - Vapochill cooling - Boots @ 1152Mhz!
Havent tried out my 800E cBO much yet but my goal is 1100Mhz stable and i dont think that will be a problem with the...
I have had 3 sticks of different RAM. Samsung, Apacer etc.. I have never increased VIO voltage ever. Check below for overclocked CPU's i have o/c and to what speed with mem speed 1/1.
550E @ 852Mhz
600E @ 888Mhz
650E @ 1007Mhz - Vapochill
800E @ 1070Mhz - Vapochill
I might be misinformed but...
