- 2 Sunnon 120mm fans. One may be slightly used, but great.

So basically, you're looking for an entire computer to use as a server? Also, does it absolutely need to support DDR2? Because 939 boards supporting DDR2 are pretty rare...

Anyone have a Compaq Presario Socket A motherboard to spare? I am unsure what model of Presario it came with, but I do know it is from a Presario 6xxx series. The sticker on system board have the number 261671-001 for replacement and have MS-6553 ver. 1 between the AGP and PCI slots and seems to be custom made by MSI. It is powered by Nvidia's NForce 1 chipset. The one in my hand seems to be killed by a faulty PSU and red power LED on the front stayed on ever since. :|

So if anyone have this particular board that I am looking for would be great. Thanks in advance.

The non-profit organization (Medford Oregon squadron of Civil Air Patrol) of which I'm a member needs some better computers. We have one P4 2.8, which is pretty much adequate for our needs. Everything else ancient. We need two or three more computers that are P4 2.8, Athlon 2800+ or better with Win XP or better.

First, if anyone here would like to donate a computer, it would be greatly appreciated. The Civil Air Patrol is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, so donations are tax deductible.

Assuming that I don't get two computer donated from Anandtech folks, what would be the better option: (1) trying to get local businesses to donate computers, (2) trying to raise enough money to buy two or three used computers (at maybe $125 ea.), or (3) trying to raise enough money to buy two or three new computers at around $435 ea.? Re. option (1), is a P4 2.8 old enough that businesses would be getting rid of them?

At this point in time, local colleges and businesses would be getting rid of ~2Ghz+ P4-era systems.


I say this because I'm part of a student organization at my university that refurbishes older PC's (that are donated to us when various departments upgrade) and donate them to non-profits, and many of the systems we are getting in now are P4's.

I'd send an e-mail to any local colleges to see if they are similar student organizations, as well as post an ad on craigslist. That being said, I've seen P4 systems in the FS/FT section listed for under $100 shipped.

If you were in the Philadelphia area, we would have been happy to help you out.

You actually need to be very specific. Not all will work with each model. The vid will work, but not the sound, so you'll need to get one in your series.

Who was your acrd made by? If it's sapphire/visiontek, call'em up and they'll give you one for free I believe. (Mine was visiontek and I just told'em the one I had wasn't working).
