Seeking:
PCMCIA or USB 1.1 sound solution that would work with P2 laptop (Win2K). This is for a good cause, a disabled person's communications link to the world.

Piggy-back RAM for Powerbook 1400. I have a single 32MB module now, would like to add so I can run MacOS 9.1.

Giving:
IDE 100MB Zip drives.

Powerbook 5300cs. 16MB RAM, 2GB HDD. Running Mac OS 8.1 (original install) w/ Microsoft Word etc. Original (not the same as yo-yo) power supply. Battery probably dead. Touchpad is bad (any touch makes the cursor jump all over), works OK with Mac mouse that I'll include. Screen is darkish with ghosts.

Taken Special: Digital HiNote Ultra 2000 laptop. Pentium 166/MMX, ca. 1998. Battery not dead but unknown capacity. Long story short, I updated the BIOS and the thing now insists on Supervisor Password to go into BIOS setup. Without changing setup it doesn't recognize the HDD or boot from CD (no floppy exists). It worked with Win98 prior to the "BIOS mishap", but did not bood from CD or offer APM (which is why I did the BIOS update). I had a 4GB HDD and 80MB RAM (16MB built in, and 2 X 32 MB EDO SoDIMMs I had put in).
The HiNote has 2 PCMCIA (16-bit) slots (one is a Z-slot for some video card I have no knowledge about). There's a modem in a third PCMCIA slot on the other side, sort-of built in. A small plastic panel there is missing, I judge it of no imortance. No Ethernet nor USB. There's actually a USB port showing in the device manager but the connector is on the docking station only, which I do not have. Ditto for the floppy.
There are notes on the web about resetting the EEPROM that keeps the Supervisor Password, by shorting a couple of pins on the EEPROM chip and applying power. I tried that and did not succeed. I think I broke the cover closure sensor when I went in.
If you want to try and resurrect the thing, I can leave the 2X32MB EDO RAM in there, give you a good deal on the HDD (or toss in an empty 1.6GB HDD) and include the kludged (this has a rare connector) power supply.
If you want it for parts, I will take out the extra RAM and include no HDD or power supply. You can at least salvage a 24X CD-ROM drive. The screen is OK, actually nice (early TFT).

Taken Apple Newton MessagePad 120 with manual and Mac connection pack.

Taken Sun Ultra 5 with 128MB RAM and 8.6GB SCSI HDD. Unknown condition (except it boots), I do not have a keyboard and did not try TTY.

Anyone have an old, outdated laptop with a DVD-ROM and audio out connector that they'd be willing to part with?

I have a bunch of MP3s burned to multiple DVD+RW discs and thought I could use something like this as kind of a portable player for when I'm in the car and such. Just pop one of the DVD+RWs in the drive, connect my cassette adapter to the audio out and use a basic windows MP3 player to play and navigate the tunes/playlists.

Of course, I'm not looking for anything fancy. Just something that will run Win 98 and an early version of Winamp, foobar or something similar.
