Canada is allowing a lot of legal immigration. 1 in 5 Canadians are foreign born vs. about 1 in 7 in for US. But they're not allowing just anyone in.

There is little evidence that immigration has net negative economic effects, even on things like wages for low skill workers. There’s lots of evidence that it has net positive effects though. It’s just a really good thing we want to encourage.

I do agree that high levels of immigration are met with reactionary politics by some segments of society but I would argue those reactionary people are the problem, not the immigrants.

If we are using our brains and not our hearts, more immigration of all kinds is the answer.
