'04 Nissan Maxima sales figures

Those are march figures. About what I expected from such a fugly design.

I don't think Nissan intended this to be a high volume vehicle. They stated that from the begininning. I'm surprised that many vehicles have been sold so far.

Isn't the Maxima production from now on going to be 1/4th that of the Altima?

They have regular sunroofs. YOu are thinking about the Skyview roof, which is standard on every maxima that doesn't come with the optional regular sunroof.

well... umm... you do realize that the march figures probably don't have any of the '04 maximas in them and its the last of the '03s, right?

probably true, i don't think i've seen a 04 maxima on the road yet, and i live in the bay area, new stuff shows up quick here. 03 is still around, its too early to judge.

Same. I have yet to see a 04 Maxima ... or a TSX for that matter. But I do see G35's everywhere I go.

Seeing that the Altima usually brings in around 16-20K per month, I'd say the Maxima is indeed stealing sales away.

Altima took some Maxima sales when it came out. So Maxima is getting back those.
Accord and 6 is probably also taking some Altima sales, and Nissan is not getting into the incentive game as much as some others.

I'm sure they're selling close to MSRP, which wouldn't help much. But it does seem to be taking Altima sales away, not that I'm surprised.

Streets here being flooded with 03 Accords these days. Been seeing a quite a few G35's too.

I doubt the 6 is stealing that many sales from Nissan. The 6 started slowly out the block, but is finally gaining momentum (every month, sales have gone up slightly). They've only sold ~13,500 units so far this year, which is actually less than Millenia + 626 sales last year. Nothing has really changed...

The import volume leaders is still Toyota, Honda, Nissan (in that order) with the remaining Japanese manufacturers trailing way behind.

As "fugly" as the Maxima may be, I've already seen a couple on the roads and its been on sale for what... a month. The 6 has been on sale since December and I finally saw my first on the roads when I was in Washington state for business last week.

The all-new Nissan Maxima completed its first full month of sales in April, the nameplate had its best April ever with sales of 11,584 units

I guess people are loving this car! Sadly, Nissan total sales are slightly lower than last year. It could be due to the economy I guess. Also, 59.9% of all Nissan sales in North America are in the US. So approx 40% would be shared between Mexico and Canada.

Yeah, if you scroll down a bit, there's still a few sales for the Chevy Prizm (when was that axed, 02?) and Olds Intrigue (axed 02)
