It really doesn't matter. I would have never gotten into the argument about which car is faster stock because for years the Camaro V8 trim levels had that one on paper and in the real world for the most part but comparing it to the 2005 GT is more on a level playing field. What is important to understand is that the Mustang is still around and the Camaro isn't, ever wonder why? Firstly, the Camaro turned into a huge POS with a big engine. The cars themselves were some of the biggest pieces of junk to roll off of a production line....ask me how I know?....there is one in my driveway. Secondly. about 75% of the Pony car market has always been the lower HP commuter type of vehilces that appeal to women and the Camaro simply stunk in this role because the buyers here were going to the Mustang, ever wonder why the Mustang ALWAYS outsold the Camaro by an over 2:1 margin? Thirdly, the demographic that the SS/Z28 Camaros appealed to had a hard time getting insurance for them. GM killed the Camaro with bad engineering and crappy marketing. GM as a company just doesn't get it, whereas Ford understood and continues to understand the market.

Coming from someone with the name "Ronstang" I can see how you feel emasculated by a car that always had a performance advantage and need to defend the Mustang with other off topic statistics. And your comment about the Camaro being a piece of junk just shows your falsly opinionated bias.

The Camaro had a solid performance lead over the Mustang (in both V6 and V8 trims) up until the day it was axed, there was no question as to which was the faster car. Only now (with the 05 GT) is the Mustang even close to competing.
