Please note: Due to what others have pointed out in this thread, I'd stay away from making any donations at this site. I'll try to call them and see what they say about their charity.

If you can afford to help this effort please do as we would like to be able to send out over 1,000,000 flags. As you can imagine this is very expensive and we will need your hep to complete this giant task. During this great time of need after the savage attacks on our country, your help is needed more than ever before. Going to make this bold, so you understand my point - Please do not treat this as any other Hot Deal where 100's of us Anand members rush to get a mass amount of free stuff just because 'its free'. Get a flag only if you need to do so, and please donate. This isn't some site you can abuse because this isn't an advertisement for a company, its a logo for your patriotism and hopefully everyone can fly their flags.

I hate to say it, but I wouldn't give these people one red cent. If you want to donate give your money directly to the Red Cross, United Way or whatever. It looks like this site was setup to capitalize on the disaster and that is sickening.

They may or may not be a legitimate charity, but if I were a betting man I would bet they are keeping most of the profits and are only donating a VERY small amount, if any, to the organizations they list. But my gut tells me that no charity is getting a penny.

Even further, I am guessing if you sigup for a free flag and do not donate, you get nothing....and perhaps even those who do donate won't get anything.

Even if these guys are legit, I wouldn't give out any credit card info as the site is UNSECURE. But I'm sure all of us seasoned internet buyers know never to give out credit card info over an unsecure connection, right ?

Also fishy is that the page was slapped together on FrontPage3.0 ?!??

Sounds like some newbie webmastering guy... if these guys were truly legit, I'd definitely expect a secure server (SSL), and a better way of submission than POST-ing into a cgi script form parser!?? Can anyone check out the IP address the domain name maps to and see what kind of IP it is (ie. free hosting site, and the domain name is just a masked forwarding type thing, or even worse, some guy's DSL or cable modem hookup).

I'd definitely STAY AWAY from this. Like someone else mentioned, donate to legitimate charities directly, and if you do it through a third party, at least do it through the reputable banking sites (eg. Chase, etc.), that have been set up by legitimate organizations to handle all the money issues.

this doesn't seem legit. if these guys really wanted to help, they could atleast put in $125 for a SSL certificate for donrr's protection.

i'm gonna call them up and ask them bunch of questions. if it's a scam, i hope they'll be spending time in jail for a long long time. it angers me to know another force of evil exists during this time.

like others in this thread, i think people should donate straight to these organizations: The American Red Cross, The United Way, The Salvation Army, and Liberty Unites.
