As much as I'm an AFC South fan I am rooting for the Chargers here.... though I think Indy will prevail setting up a Jags v. Colts conference final.

Think they'll stick around for a while. However, the Colts destroy them in the 2nd half.

for some reason the chargers d reads peyton well (8 int. combined in their last two meetings) and if they can get some consistency on offense they have the tools to win this game.


of course ill probably get my profile clicked and have everyone shout 'homer!'. i realize its the playoffs and everything should be thrown out the window; but for some strange reason i always run to stats. probably a good reason why i suck at sports betting and another reason why teams/fighters/horses/etc. i root for never come in.

I seriously think Chargers have a shot at beating the Colts. I think that the combo of Jammer + Cromaterie + Line will win it.

I'd like to see the Chargers win here, but I'm going to be a realist and say it isn't going to happen.

The chargers have a bit of the hot hand, but are not playing good enough football to beat premier teams in the playoffs. I think their rather soft schedule for the last half to 3/4 of the season got them rolling, I'm not sure how long that will last. The only team they had a problem with was the Titans, and that went into OT.

With Gates possibly out, or not out but definitely not at 100%, they are in some trouble with the passing game. Rivers is simply not that impressive and is playing against a top 5 pass defense in a playoff game. Luckily for them Chambers stepped up and became a difference maker. It helped that the Titans zone coverage blew more plays than a two dollar hooker, but Chambers came to play. Vince Jackson had a huge game. He basically doubled any single week yardage total since before the bye week. With his first 100 yard game this year this guy is stepping up big time when needed.

LT totalled only 62 yards and didn't look all that great. He did score that crucial goal line TD in the 4th, but he was expected to, just like most other backs. LT needs to bring it against the Colts or the Bolts are going to have a rough time next week. The guy is a champion game breaker, play like one.

The Titans simply are not that good and the Chargers didn't beat em up that bad. I think the Chargers are in for a rough game next week vs. the Colts.

While I think the Chargers are physically capable of pulling off the upset I seriously doubt they have it in them mentally especially with Norv at the helm.

I expect payback-time for the game the Bolts lucked out winning in SD earlier this season with Manning having a big day.

The Chargers have the tools to win. However, I don't think they have the mental toughness to put it together in a playoff situation against the Colts. I'll try to not be a homer here:

Colts passing game vs. Chargers passing game -> Advantage Colts, better QB, better receivers
Colts running game vs. Chargers running game -> Advantage Chargers, if LDT plays like he should. A rested Addai will close the gap.
Colts passing coverage vs. Chargers passing coverage -> Advantage Colts, Bob Sanders got 31 DPOY votes, Antonio Cromartie got 3. Every other player in the Colts backfield is better than the Chargers counterpart
Colts running D vs. Chargers running D -> Push, statistically they're very even
Colts special teams vs. Chargers special teams -> Advantage Chargers by default, Colts kick and punt coverage, other than Darrell Reid, sucks.
Colts pass rush vs. Chargers pass rush -> Advantage Chargers, they're 5th in sacks this year, Colts lost Freeney, then Raheem Brock, then Robert Mathis. Since then our pass rush has been all but non-existant. Brock and Mathis should be back, but it still isn't on-par without Freeney. Merriman isn't the same since he's not on the roids, but he and Castillo are still dangerous.
Colts pass protection vs. Chargers pass protection -> Push, 23 sacks given up by Colts, 24 sacks given up by Chargers
Colts run blocking vs. Chargers run blocking -> Push, better yards-per-carry average for SD, same number of rushing TDs, more yards per game for SD, for runs for a 1st down for Indy, I'm not sure how much is the SD line and how much is Tomlinson, but they're fairly close

I can't wait to watch this game in the Dome. It might be the last one I ever see there, since the new stadium is opening next season. *sniffle*

The Chargers needed Peyton to throw 5 interceptions to win and almost still lost the game the last time they played.

That being said, the Chargers are playing much better ball and it should be a close game.

Colts will dominate, here's why:

-Colts will not lose two in a row to the same team, especially when they had the game locked up last time
-Manning will not have his worst.game.ever again
-Cry me a Rivers main weapon Gates will be sidelined and the Colts' Bob Sanders' led defense will shut him down for good
-LT has been struggling in his last two games, one of which came against the worst run defense in the NFL in a game SD was trying to win
-Indy is too good at home, and in a dome setting it'll be all about the passing, and we all know who the much much better passer is here..
-If Marvin Harrison is back it won't be close at all.
-And lastly, I'll take Tony over Norv in a big game w/ two weeks rest/prepartion any day of the year..

I have to say, if the Colts play any kind of decent game, the Chargers don't have a chance. They barely beat the Colts when Manning was having one of the worst games of his life and they won't get another game with 6 turnovers. That, and Rivers is just not good enough IMO.

However, I am a Colts fan and I am hoping for us to head to NE to wipe that smirk off their face. We can't look past the Chargers or we could be in trouble. Peyton has always had more of a problem against a 3-4 than anything. He doesn't see it very much and he has a hard time reading it sometimes. I think the only way this will be a game is if the Charger D can disrupt Peyton's game (2+ sacks, a lot of hurries, and 1-2 picks) and LT has a 150+ yard day.
